Every week it is stated: a RR from the same manufacturer will not roll.

So wth does that mean?

Ok, after further review I decided to clean up my last clarification. :-P

A RR from the same product or alike manufacturer will not roll if it is for the exact same amount.
If you use a $2 J&J RR on an offer from J&J that will get you a $3 RR, it should roll.
Problem is it does not always generate a new RR when from the same manufacturer even with differing RR amounts.
And, if it does not roll you get the cashier/manager arguments and the Catalina arguments that you used a RR from the same manufacturer, blah, blah, blah .

So, I am going to leave this as an absolute even though there are exceptions. I’d rather people safe than sorry especially when dealing with money.

Well that happened to me today at Walgreens. I bought two of the Slim Fast and was supposed to get a $2.00 RR. I went back into the store and the manager tells me the same thing, will not roll, etc. He was kind enough to refund my purchase and run it back through at which time I got my RR. :)

Ok Maria, the ad says “participating Dr Scholl products”. The pictures are for:

Dr Scholls for Her Comfort Soles
Dr Scholls Massaging Gels
Dr scholls Gel Support

Now that does not mean more are not included.

The $5 IVC is for: Dr. Scholl’s Rough Skin Eraser Cream 3oz, Massaging Gel, Hidden Arch Support

Sooooo Massaging Gel should work. I have no idea how much they are though in the store. Online they are $11.99

$11.99
- $5 IVC
- $2 manufacturer coupon
= $4.99 + Receive $5 RR

Nice catch Maria!

I am sure you have probably covered this before – but my Walgreens is so finicky about coupons. There are many customers who actually tell the cashier why their coupons should be accepted. I know that you are a fan of WG, but how do you do your deals with out the interference we get here? The register/cashier does not allow us to use RR’s with manufacturer coupons when paying. Is this the case with you? It does not seem to be.

Hi Heather,

I am not a fan of Walgreens, quite the opposite. I believe Walgreens will continue to be a difficult place to shop until they write (and stick to) a corporate coupon policy.

As far as what you require: The next time an ad has a RR offer and says “look in Sundays paper for manufacturer coupon”, save that ad! Sometimes the ad will spell out

$9
- $5 manufacturer coupon
- $4 RR
= Free after register reward

Keep that ad!

Keep those ads either in your binder or car so you can use them as a reference when a store gives you trouble using both a manufacturer coupon and a RR.

Do remember that Walgreens registers match 1 coupon to 1 item. The registers do not care about price, the register looks at amount due. That is why a $5 RR + a $5 manufacturer coupon will come off when you buy a $9.99 item + a 10¢ pencil.
