If I decide to get back on the Walgreen’s horse, this is my evil plan:

Order #1

Bayer Contour Blood Glucose Meter deal, so $10 RR, $0.00 OOP

Order #2

(1) Joint Juice $10
- $10 RR from Bayer
= $0.00 + Receive $10 RR

Order #3

(2) Advil $4.49
(1) Lypsyl $2.99
(1) Vitamin Schitck Lip Care $1.99
(3) Toblerone 2/$2 (hey, I may as well get something someone will use!)
= $16.96
- $1.50 IVC credit (toblerone)
= $15.46
- $5 manufacturer coupons
= $10.46
- $10 joint juice RR
= 46¢ + Receive $5 RR + $3 RR + $2 RR

I will do this twice, and then get newspapers!

Every week it is stated: a RR from the same manufacturer will not roll.

So wth does that mean?

Ok, after further review I decided to clean up my last clarification. :-P

A RR from the same product or alike manufacturer will not roll if it is for the exact same amount.
If you use a $2 J&J RR on an offer from J&J that will get you a $3 RR, it should roll.
Problem is it does not always generate a new RR when from the same manufacturer even with differing RR amounts.
And, if it does not roll you get the cashier/manager arguments and the Catalina arguments that you used a RR from the same manufacturer, blah, blah, blah .

So, I am going to leave this as an absolute even though there are exceptions. I’d rather people safe than sorry especially when dealing with money.

Ia there a new Diabetes and You for the Aviva meter or is the only one the one that expires on Sunday (1/31/10)? Thanks!

Hi Wendy,

Yes but I don’t recall a coupon in there – I could be wrong though.

Ann, how does the movie tickets deal work? Are there any coupons? Either way after I buy the required number of products how do I get the actual tickets? Thanks!

You get a Catalina coupon Tatiana. You enter your codes online (if they use the same service as times past) and print your tickets at home. Then when you go to the movie, you exchange it at the box office for a free ticket.

What is IVC?

Reply

Hi Andrea,

IVC = Instant Value Coupon

That is the name Walgreen’s gives to its in-ad (in-store) coupons.

I stopped at my Walgreens after work today and they have exactally ZERO meters! Grrrrrrr

Hi Dawn,

I’m afraid of that. With the deal running all last month, people figured $5 in hand was better than trying for $10 … and having OOS meters. Did you ask in the pharmacy?

If my local stores are OOS, I’ll have to see if hubby really wants the joint juice and if I flip those to deal #3. It would be $10.46 instead of 46¢ OOP… quite a difference!

Yep, it’s still out of print, but you don’t find that out until you jump through all their hoops (filling out a questionarre and all) with the promise of a coupon, then at the end it says it’s out of print. I wrote a complaint letter, that’s kind of dishonest of them promising a coupon if you give them all that info and then not following through.
