Now THIS Is An Awesome Walgreens!

by admin on January 27, 2012

Last week we were in Birmingham Alabama and hubby needed to run in for some Oscillococcinum. He was afraid he was catching a cold, and did not want to be ill on a cruise – and there is always the worry they will not let you on if you are sick, it is a quick way to pass along a cold or illness to others since it is in a confinded area.

While looking around this store I immediately notice this in every aisle:

shopping haul

They had taped both manufacturer coupons to products or at least on the shelf so you would know there was a coupon available.

They also did that with Walgreens IVC, although even in my area that is more common. The other great thing about that Birmingham Walgreens? We went in on a Thursday and they had all the sale items!! WOW!

Do any of your local store tape coupons to products for redemption?

My Walgreens in WNY also does this now behind the cosmetic counter. With the new scanners, they will not take expired coupons or RR, under no circumstances.

I’ve actually seen this at my Walgreen’s in CNY. I wonder where the coupons are coming from though…

My WAGS in Hamburg NY does it sometimes but they always have extras behind the counter. They have also taken expired coupons on items that I have a raincheck for ( they staple them together for me).

The Rite Aid in LaPlata Maryland does this too.

The Wags store I used to work at tried to do the same. In our store stats, it really mattered what percentage of store sales were checked out in cosmetics, not necessarily that cosmetics were sold. So we told people they could get coupons for their items (after putting up tags showing coupons available) if they checked out is cos. It worked :) And not to mention, usually the lines in cos are much shorter.

In this area, most stores get mad when WE leave coupons next to coupons for others to use. I’ve never heard or seen any store in this area that’s done it on their own. Incredible!
