WalMart Coupon Policy

by Ann on February 15, 2010

I’ve posted this before, but it sure as heck does not hurt to post it again. :-)

WalMart has a corporate coupon policy. It is posted on their website. Print this policy and take it with you when you shop at WalMart. It will help if there are any disputes at store level. Remember to move up the store chain until you get to someone that understands and will abide by their corporate policy.

Walmart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):

• Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
• Free merchandise (or manufacturer’s Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
• Store coupons
• Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
• Internet coupons
• Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:

• Walmart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
• Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Walmart will not accept expired coupons.
• Internet coupons should be legible and say “Manufacturer Coupon.” There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
• Only one coupon per item is permitted.
• Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

I don’t shop at WalMart, Amanda. Tops does not accept competitor coupons, so I never asked. Now Wegmans might as they accept Tops doublers and in-ad coupons. Maybe they’d accept the RR too?

I didn’t know that wegmans took tops doublers! Just when I thought you had taught me everything I needed to know Ann! :-)

I HATE Walmart and for over a year wouldn’t go there, but after awhile I felt like I was only hurting myself by driving twice as far to avoid it. So… I do go there when I have to.

I’m trying to help my sister get into couponing. She can’t print the Rite Aid coupons, so I was going to print some and mail them to her but they expire Saturday. Do you know when the new once usually come out? I can’t remember if it is before the old ones expire, or not until after. She only goes to Rite Aid because that is within walking distance of her house, so I was going to make her a little “packet” with all the coupons and instructions for Sunday… but the coupons we have now wont be good then.

You want one better? Most Wegmans do not hold to the $15 minimum purchase on the Tops doublers either. And, some Wegmans will not limit to the 2 (or 4) doublers per order. You need to find out what your local Wegmans policy is.

The new ones will be out between Friday and Sunday… unless Rite Aid throws us a curve and sends them out even earlier.
