Well, I have sat and pondered, and after much reflection I think I will get back on the Walgreen’s horse. I figure it must be my first stop, or I can forget about it. Getting $40+ worth of merchandise for 46¢ OOP and still having $10 worth of Register Rewards is too tempting to pass up. Besides I want a few papers this week and next week’s papers look to be great!
I am awfully tempted to head to CVS right after Walgreen’s for some body wash I do not need, and some P&G products I do not need. Putting it like that, I know I probably won’t end up there.
Rite Aid is a “mus do” this week, but on Wednesday after the truck comes in. My local stores are wiped out of vitamins. I guess I could head north and tempt hubby with Big Lots since the coupon expires tomorrow.
Target has a few good deals, especially if you have the tostitos tear pad coupons. $4 for two chips and two dips is pretty darned good!
Even KMart has a great deal this week in the pieces candy offer. But, I did give up chocolate January 1st and I have stuck to it, so no sense bringing temptation into the house. You may be tempted by the deal, however.
Tops has a few good deals as do A&P and Pathmark. Nothing that is a Sunday “must do”, however.
That is it for me then, Walgreens and maybe Rite Aid and Big Lots. Hmmmmm This is a great week for deals! Why am I not more enthused!?

I won’t be going anywhere tomorrow…not even to get newspapers.
I am in South Carolina and we got about 2 inches of snow and some ice……sooooooo…here, that means nobody goes ANYWHERE. LOL! I am originally from Atlanta but have lived in Minneapolis and Hartford and now I find the whole “snow in the south means everything shuts down” kinda funny (except when it comes between me and my newspapers).
Hi Brandi,
I’m sorry but I laughed out loud when you said 2″ of snow = everything shuts down. You didn’t even have to say you were currently in the south – I’d have known just from that statement.
Question, why can’t you go out? You know how to drive in the snow if you’ve lived up north … or are you afraid of how everyone else that does not know how to drive in the snow drives in your area?
Ann
Hi Ann,
Other people not knowing how to drive in the snow is part of it. The biggest problem is that only the major roads get plowed and salted. The only way out of our neighborhood is up a nice, big icy hill! I’m just not that interested in going sledding in my van…LOL!
LOL me too. I live just outside of Raleigh, NC and we got about 4″ of snow PLUS about 2″ of ice, so I’m trying to figure out how to get my papers, much less actually shop! My road is a sheet of ice, and I don’t do ice. I can handle snow, since I’m from PA, but the ice freaks me out! Help me Ann!!! LOL I was actually going to contact my newspaper delivery manager to see if she could bring me like 4 papers if I pay for them. Do you know if they’ll do that?
Hi Collen,
It does not hurt to ask!
I also am betting that if the driving is horrible the stores will have Sunday papers leftover early Monday morning. Hubby always seems to find leftovers later in the week. As much as I hate to say it, WalMart usually has them left on Monday mornings.

I don’t know if this will help anyone or not, but my local Sheetz always has a ton of papers left at 11pm-midnight. So my two friends and I always go and order some stuff, drink some coffee, hang out and chat and then ask if we can take out the inserts [since they still get credit if the front page is left] We NEVER take them all, but we each get many inserts. And its a nice weekly tradition, since we get to catch up with each other!
My point is- that the roads should be empty at that time, and if you call ahead and ask, you might be able to score some free inserts.
Just my 2 cents
