Rite Aid Deals beginning 6/19/11
Walgreens Deals beginning 6/19/11
CVS Deals beginning 6/19/11 (GREAT week!)
Seems the weeks I least want to shop are the weeks I do the best for what the Coupons, Deals and More household actually uses. I had a ball today!!!

My first stop was CVS where I did the following:
(1) Schick Razor $8
(1) Zyrtec $5/99
(1) Bayer Advantage $3
(3) Tic Tac (B2 ($1.67 each), get 1 for 1¢)
= $21.33
- (3) $1 tic tac coupons
= $18.33
- (1) $5.99 Zyrtec free coupon (this actually scans off at $7 but my cashier adjusted)
= $12.34
- $2 Bayer coupon
= $10.34
- $4 Schick Coupon
= $6.34
- $6 ECB from prior week
= 34¢ and I Receive (1) $5.99 ECB and (1) $4 ECB and (1) $1 ECB
I again have a plethora of ECB, and next week’s ad has some smokin’ hot deals (I will I will have it up this afternoon), so I do not foresee an end in site to CVS!
After that, we went over to Walgreens where we did these orders:
Order #1
(1) AirWick Freshener $7.99
(2) Dial Body Wash $2.99
= $13.97
- $4 air wick coupon
- (2) $2 dial coupons
= $5.97 and Received $3 RR
Order #2
(1) Wal-Flex 24-Hour Allergy Relief $3.99
= $3.99
- $3 RR from order #1
= 99¢ and Receive $4 RR
Order #3
(1) AirWick Freshener $7.99
(8) Candy 39¢
= $11.11
- $4 airwick coupon
- (4) 50¢/2 coupons
- 99¢ RR from prior week (I asked the cashier to try it and he just keyed it in)
= $4.12 and Received $3 RR
Order #4
(1) Wal-Flex 24-Hour Allergy Relief $3.99
= $3.99
- $3 RR from order #3
= 99¢ and Receive $4 RR
Order #5
(6) Newspapers $2
= $12
- (2) $4 RR from orders #2 and 4
- (2) 99¢ RR from prior week
= $2.02
Yes, hubby was with me. He wanted the candy since he could not get those types at Tops.
Order #6
(6) Dial Body wash $2.99
= $17.94
- (6) $2 coupons
= $5.94
And then it was on to Tops
Hubby had told me about the coupons in the News this morning, but did not say a CRT was not required for the MIR. *sigh* I did a lot of separate orders when I could have just done the old 10-coupons-per-order for 100 bonus gas points.
Sooooooo I am lumping it all together. Do know that I did receive the bonus 10 gas points for ever coupon since not one of my orders came close to 10 coupons.
(6) Grain Berry Pancake Mix $2.50
(6) Grain Berry Cereals $2.50
(6) Grain Berry Crackers $2.50
(6) Renuzit Crystals $4.99
(1) Kraft BBQ Sauce $1.99
(1) Tops Fudge Bars $3.19
(1) Campbells Pork & Beans $1.19
(1) 7 Up $1.89
(1) Potato Salad $3.99
(1) Personal Watermelon $3.49
(1) Cole Slaw $1.99
(1) Chicken Pack $11.69
(1) Mint $2.29
(1) Cilantro $1.69
(1) Ginger Root 32¢
(2) Soft Scrub $2.50
= $113.66
- $17.73 in free items for buying the chicken
= $95.93
- (18) $2 grain berry coupons
= $59.93
- (6) $3 renuzit coupons
= $41.93
- B1G1 soft soap coupon
= $39.43
- $2 Catalina from prior week
= $37.43
Now you may be wondering WHY I got the Renuzit Crystals…. well, Sonny-boy has been coming home and snitching every and any plug-in or stand alone air freshener we have. Just the thought of what that frat house must smell like if Sonny-boy notices, gives me the heebie jeebies. Those crystals are for the frat house.
Total Merchandise: $197.99
Total OOP: $57.80
and I have $10.99 in ECB to use at another time!
So how did you do this morning? Did you hit the drug stores? Grocery stores? Sleep in!?

Where’d you get the $1 off tic tac coupons??
Today’s inserts.
Ann
Mine only have $0.75/1
Same heebie jeebies for me and the crystals! My boys are tiny and think they’s end up candy.
I get such horrible coupons here. I didn’t get the tic tac coupon, schick coupon, OR the dial coupon… I got junk coupons.
How much is the chicken per pound for the tops deal?
$3.99# – regular price
Ann
Lysol Neutra Air FreshMatic $7.99
Gillette Fusion Razor $9.89

Oops forgot to put Walgreens – 1st time posting!
Nice job Katie!
Ann
Welcome aboard Katie!!!
Nice job!!
Thanks guys.
Yikes – I forgot to mention I got back $15 in RRs.
No shopping for me today. Deep freezer went out last night. Ran to Lowes this morning, purchased a new one, had it delivered about an hour ago. I really think the broken freezer can be repaired. I didn’t have anywhere to store all of our meat until then. Hard choice to make, throw hundred’s of dollars forth of meat out while waiting to get it fixed or spend $600 on new freezer. uhh its always something.
Oh no Robin – that is a tough choice to make!
Ann
I feel for you Robin. That had to be a tough decision. We have our freezer less than half full at the moment. Our garden is already producing squash and the okra, tomatoes, green beans, corn, peppers and zucchini will soon follow. I’m always afraid something will happen to our freezer and we’ll lose all our food – not to mention the hard work I put into it.
We lost power after the tornado on April 27 and was on the verge of taking all our food to my mom’s house when the power came back on. Fortunately all the food was okay.
I’m glad you caught it quickly though. If your old freezer can be repaired, hopefully you’ll have someplace to store it to use as a backup.
Robin I’m so sorry!!
I think I would of done the same thing as you and get another freezer!
I heard that the Lysol touch is extremely regional. Did we get it in Buffalo and if so did we get the $3 q in our paper? THanks so much!
The coupon? Yeah we had it.
Ann

SOrry I meant to ask if we got the sale at Rite Aid because I heard it was regional. My brain isn’t working today.
I didn’t see any coupons for dial soap in my paper
Kim look for the Dial Body wash or Lotion coupon… taller, thin coupon.
Ann
I went to CVS first for the Zyrtec. They were OOS so I got a rain check. Cashier said more were coming in Tuesday. Only bought one Schick Hydro there. At Rite Aid I bought one Bayer Advantage and an extra newspaper.
No grocery stores yet but Kroger has Whole New York Strip Steaks (12 – 14 lb.) on sale for $4.99 lb. If they will slice it, I want to get one of those some time this week.
Is this regional? I am in Northern Ohio and would love this price for some steaks. Stock up item for sure at this price.
Gezz Just a paper run for me again this week. Went to Walgreens to use a $5 rr. I bought
2 papers =$3
1 blistex $2 = $5
- $5 rr = 0 oop got back a $2 rr
2nd trans
1 paper $1.50
2 silly bands (2x.25) .50 = $2
- $2 rr = 0 oop
I was happy with the way that went going into Walgreens with no plan but to spend a rr is very dangerous for me. Then I went to Rite Aid, I meant to buy the buffalo news but totally spaced it out, got
4 papers ($1.20 x4)=$4.80
1 choc cherry .26=$5.06
tax .02= $5.08
- $5up = .08oop
Last night I had gone to Tops to get the plates, at my store they were $2.50 I didn’t see any $1.50 ones so just free for me no mm. Free is good.
Free is good (talking to myself). So I won’t be going to Tops today, I will go later on it the week though.
Nice job everyone!!:-) Ann, you “rocked it girl”!!!
Drama queen #1 and I went out this morning, we were shopping for almost 4 hrs, now figure that one out. I had absolutely no sense of urgency this a.m., don’t know why. We hit DD’s first and I got a much needed coffee and bought her the “frozen hot chocolate”, she said it was delicous!!
also know why I avoid that store too), RA, CVS & finally Tops
4Stores – WAGS (I know
WAGS: 1 Bayer Advanced, 1 butterfinger, 1 Kraft Mac & Cheese, 4 Cases soda pop, 1 Gillette Fusion Proglide, 1 Colgate 360 toothbrush.
Yup, that’s my baby!! Received: (1)$5RR, (1) $2RR & (1) $1RR. Yeah… so didn’t miss WAGS.
Used: (1) $1 colgate toothbrush, (1) $2 Bayer, instore cpns for the soda & mac & cheese. Used (2) .99RR from last week. Total OOP including tax: $23.53 *YIKES*, my dd says to me right at the register (totally my daughter even though she looks like dh, lol), “mom, YOU NEVER PAY THAT MUCH, no wonder you hardly come to Walgreens”!
RA: Went in to buy the Purex (last day of cpns and they finally got them in, only to see a lovely sign posted), LIMIT FOUR PER CUSTOMER. I went and asked the MOD what is going on. I’ve been waiting weeks for the product and my raincheck is for 8. She said that the DM sent a memo to limit the Purex detergent per customer because they were supposed to get more stock and something happened so they apparently won’t be getting the product as fast as they thought they would.. whatever!
*MUCH, MUCH BETER* Received:
So I quick had to recaculate. Ugh. K…
1 transaction – Diabetes Rsk Test Kit, Cholesterol Test Kit (free cpns from RA), 2 Glad trash bags, 4 Purex, 1 Dial Body Wash, 1 A&H toothpaste, 1 Bayer Advanced, 2 Schick Hydro.

CVS: 2 JF Full Repair Conditioner, 1 Bayer Advance, 3 Tic Tac, 6 Orbit gum, 1 Palmolive Dish, 1 Zyrtec, 1 Schick Hydro, 2 Lipton Iced Teas.
Used: (2) $5 JF (total $3MM for me), (1) $2Bayer, (3) $1Tic Tac, (3) $1/2 Orbit, (1) .55 Palmolive {CVS home mail}, *forgot about the Zyrtec*, (1) $4 Schick, (2) Free Lipton.
Then I used all the ECB’s I had sans a $1. Everything went thru fine and the cashier tells me I have to buy like $5 worth of product because I’m in the negative… I’m like “huh”??? So, I look at DD, she looks at me… she’s scrambling to get a flyer, and then I said to the cashier, “can you void a few ECB’s”? He said he could. I chose the $4ECB, and my balance now owed is… .59! YES!!! K, sorry *still excited*, received: (1)$3ECB, (1)$1ECB, (1)$4ECB & (1) $5.99 ECB.

Total: $34.48
AND, AND, AND, AND IM @ $3.90 off the gallon, dh says, this week is the WEEK!!!! Woohoooooo
All in all a very productive day. I did have to come home and make the coleslaw into a stirfry ASAP, the bags smarted to smell to me during the ride home.
I defrosted a couple of boneless pork chops, sliced the meat, sauteed w/ canola & a drop of sesame oil. Took meat out, then added fresh sliced onion & peppers, along w/ teensy bit ginger crushed & garlic powder. Added oyster, reduced sodium soy… and sauteed. Added cabbage, a tad more sauces and a minute drizzle of sesame oil. Added the pork back in, and voila, awesome… over Jasmine rice.
Now their bugging me for the chicken cacciatore… I swear, all I do is cook!!!
Okay, I just noticed how “super long winded” I am. My goodness can I just post and post and post and post.
Okay, seriously everyone, Ann, I pinkie promise to make my future posts “short and sweet”…. jeeeshhhh
Sorry everybody!!
Don’t apologize. They are always a hoot, plus I learn lots! Keep it up!
And I too hate to recalculate my plan in the store. More often than not I make a mistake. But I am now trying the “if you messed your deal up, return it” wisdom of Ann.
LOL, than you Patti, you are a “hoot” in your own right as well my friend, LOVE reading our posts!!!! I think I did pretty well after the bomb shell, and waiting almost 5 wks for the product!! Oh vey!!
I played “beauty” and “coupon” advisor at CVS today where I met a few older ladies buying some cosmetics. It appears that not too many people in my part of NYC coupon so I had fun helping out the ladies who were just going to pay RETAIL for their purchase. Plus, that particular CVS had no signage on ECB deals so the shelves were full.
I had 2 separate transactions to make use of $/$$ coupons and to roll the ECBs from the 1st transaction into the 2nd one.
$8 Schick Hydro 5
$6.39 Wesson oil B1G1 free
$6.16 (7 x $0.88) Gatorade
$6 (2 x $3) Corn Pops
$5.99 Zyrtec 5 ct
$3 Bayer
$4 Motrin PM
$1.57 Orbit Gum B1G1 free (the gum was $1.29 a few months ago!)
Becareful when buying the light blue Gatorade. It scanned as “item not found” so I asked the cashier to scan the other Gatorades so they count for the ECB deal. If the cashier manually input the price, you would lose $0.88 cent in the Gas card deal.
After coupons & $21-ish ECBs, I paid $1.90 OOP for both transactions. I have $18.55 towards the Gas Card deal and will probably buy more cooking oil because we love making chicken wings and spring rolls during the summer. Would chicken wings and spring rolls qualify as stockpile recipes Ann?
Absolutely Tegan if that is what is in your stockpile.
Ann
RiteAid:
14.40 TrueResult Meter
- 3.00 3/15
- 6.00 Ups
=5.40 no tax
- 3.13 Gift Card
- 2.27 Cash
I got back $10up and will get $14.40 MIR
The meter will be donated to the local middle school.
Just to note my screw ups:)
Attention all CVS shopper’s
a 33% off may be printed at the bottom of your receipt. Good for 3 days. Would have worked out nice with the gas deal. Wasn’t thinking.
Attention RA shopper’s
RA the Finesse must be the kind in the white bottle to get the SCR (Clean and clear?)
Didi…the gas at Tops was $3.95 per gallon so you will be able to pay a nickle a gallon. How fun! I cashed in $2.10 a gallon X13 = $24.50.
CVS bought the cereal for a gas card and sent UPC’s for a Kellogg gas card. Bought the zyrtec for $5.99 – $4 mq = $1.99. Did this on 2 cards to get 6 newspapers for 2 cents.
Picked up some odds and ends groceries to complete some NBPR rebates.
Nice day. Whatever I spent OOP, I will be getting back. Hooray!
OOPs! Paid $4 for the 6 papers.
Wendy, you can fill up gas cans or another vehicle to get the full 30 gals of gas. We had called our Tops to make sure it was ok.
30 Gallons??? Yooohoooo, I gotta tell dh!!! Thank you Ida!! Wendy you had me laughing so hard!!
OK……where are we going to get the best deal on 5 gallon gas cans?
It’s worth getting the cans because of the cost of gas. I may find more enthusiasm for using all those coupons at Tops!
We got ours at walmart for $9.88 they are 5 gal cans so you may need three or 4 depending on the tank in your car. You could always try to get them with some overage. Dial .97 trial bw with the $2/1 mf, if you have that many coupons. Another overage coupon for Walmart is the first aid coupons $3/2 and you buy the travel first aid kits for .97cents. Unfortunately I don’t have any of those, and ebay has become very expensive.
I think the cans are a great investment.
Wendy, what do you mean “kellogg gas card”? i would love to know more about that? Thanks!
Here you go Rebecca click here
Ann
You guys are all so impressive!
I totally skipped the drugstores today. First time in a LONG time. But I did hit our Albertson’s, and got $68.77 in groceries for $7.82 AND received 2 – $3.50 oyno for milk. The reason I did so well was doublers and I had one $20 cat left from purchasing gift cards last week that I used. (Now I’m counting the weddings we have coming up and will go back one last time to purchase gift cards for those, get another $20 oyno or 2 and call it quits. I’m getting tired!)
Then I tried something at Walmart on my way home. I had 2 – $2 Seattle Best Coffee expiring today and 6 of the $2 off Dial Lotion or Body Wash. I knew they carried the Dial body wash travel size for under a buck. I wanted to test the overage policy locally.
Here’s what I did:
3-Travel size Dial Body Washes for 97 cents (would have purchased more, but there were only 10 left and wanted to leave something for the next person.)
1 – Seattle’s Best Coffee for $6.00
Total $8.91
Used 3-$2.00 Dial BW coupons and a $2.00 coffee coupon.
Paid 91 cents and walked out.
This coffee is going to taste AWESOME!!
Awesome Patti!!!!
Alot of awesome shopping trips today! I was gonna rest, that was a no go. I stopped at Walgreens got (1) Dial shower gel for 99 cents after 2.00 coupon and got the last (2) Nestle crunch in the whole store, used (2) 35 cents off coupons. Got food and another shelving unit at Aldi’s, so went in CVS to find nothing. No Zyrtec, no JF full repair again. Walked out with (2) bags of Hershey’s drops- buy 1, get 2nd for a penny and used a 2.00 coupon off 2. So like Ann’s hubby- got chocolate. And I told my household again- there is never a reason to stink. I should of stayed home, I need chocolate and shower gel like I need a hole in the head.
Hubby smoked chicken tonight (was awesome) and I made up a mac and cheese using cheddar and some Phili cooking creme (I got a ton of it). I will forward the recipe when I write it down for a stockpile recipe. That is hard for me to do, I never measure when I make something up.
Oh yeah, the CVS truck will be in tomorrow night……urghhhhh.
Didi- awesome with the gas!!!!!!!! A nice reward for all your bargain shopping!!!
Ty LeaAnn!! I was like SUPER EXCITED!!! Problem is my truck holds 16gallons, I’m thinking dh’s car is almost close… So, I think I will have dh fill his car (I get reimbursed mileage for mine), and then fill up as many cans as we can, lol!!!
I wish we lived closer, we could of called each other and just have gone out to breakfast!!
Didi gas was $3.90 at my tops today…. you would have gotten it for FREE! And don’t shorten your posts. I LOVE reading them!
Awwwww, thanks my baby girl!!! *heart*
Btw, I think my post person HATED me all week last week. I kept filling my mailbox w/ goodies (for the Post office food bank thingie) and just kept tingput my arrow thingie up. I live on a fairly busy road, so I didn’t want to “hang the bag” from my mailbox in fear someone would take the goods. So… from Monday till Thursday all last week I was killing her
. On Friday I suprised her, I put in a handmade note w/ a GC to DD’s (my fav) and a box of cookies and some nuts for her journey’s. I told her, just like her, I’m on the road all day… I just snack!!
She’s an awesome carrier!!!
I wasn’t sure if the same carriers work on Saturday too, so I shortened it for a Friday suprise!
My carrier asked me how I get so many checks a while back. If I have rebate forms I put them in an envelope and leave them for him:)
What a wonderful thing to do Didi.. You go Girl!
That would be nice……how about it Ann? A break from Sunday shopping and have a meet up breakfast.
LOL!
That happens so seldom now… it would be nice to do some weekend morning.
Ann
Thanks for the heads up on those Q’s in the newspaper, I was headed out to my son’s hockey game and had time to stop at Tops to get some of the Grain Berry products. I wonder if my fam will turn up their noses at something so healthy, lol.
I did the usual freebies at CVS and RA today and tried out the Dr Scholls deal. My ad says there is a $5 upr on any Dr Scholls footcare items (Can’t find it in the ad on-line??). Some of the items were less than $5 and I had coupons as well as a Dr Scholls VV Q for $1, so figured it could turn into a MM. Plus the 10% or 20% discount will show up since they are full price. The uprs did not print at the register and manager ended up hand writing me 2 upr slips. That was a first, and I could only use them at that store. Worked for me! Then I noticed on my receipt something about Dr Scholls and a $5 upr on $15 so now I am wondering if the add is a typo. I will give it a day or two and try again. Nearly free odor eater inserts would be a great deal for my three guys with smelly feet :>)
It’s a typo. Spend $15 get $5UP.
They posted on their facebook page last week Tracy that it was an ad mistake.
Ann
I guess the store didn’t get that memo either! Good to know.
Tracy, do you go to the RA in Ransomville? Are they getting any better?

Ann
hi Ann,
i re-read the coupon policy for Tops and cant understand what you meant when you said you could have done “the old 10-coupons-per-order for 100 bonus gas points”. does this mean they will accept more than 4 of the same coupons per order?
sorry for the amateur question. still learning.
-jessika
The last few months Tops has been giving out 10 bonus gas points per coupon used, limit 10 per order. Since none of my coupons doubled today, I could have just broken the orders down to a maximum of 10 coupons per order (I did 3 because I thought a CRT was needed for that rebate, but it was not).
Tops will accept as many alike coupons per order as you are buying the corresponding item. However, if the coupons are valued at 99¢ or less, they will only double the first 4 alike coupons. Let’s say you have (5) 75¢ widget A coupons. If all on one order it would like like this:
(5) Widget A $2
= $10
- 75¢
- 75¢ doubled
- 75¢
- 75¢ doubled
- 75¢
- 75¢ doubled
- 75¢
- 75¢ doubled
- 75¢
= $3.25
Better to break out that 5th alike item into a separate order and get that last 75¢ coupon doubled. Your final cost would be $2.50, not $3.25.
Ann
thank you very much for the thorough explanation!
okay – a few questions…. been trying to get gas points at Tops…. Is there a Tops Cus Ser. Like rite aids?? 2 Weeks in a row I bought the deal to get 200 gas points and did not get them…. Also tried the cat on solo on sat. And did not get the extra 4, but do not see it advertised so couldn’t complain…. Any advice on that? And finally, how in the world do you guys get so many gas points? I do the deals and am lucky to hit $1.00…. Oh yeah and do coupons track in the sense that if I use 4 today and 6 tomorrow, will I get the 100 bonus points?? Thanks anyone who will advise….. This is the best blog!!!
Take your receipt to the Service Desk at Tops and they can add your gas points to your card. They did it for me last week when I accidently grabbed the wrong size Cheez-Its.
You get 10 gas points for each coupon redeemed, up to 100 per transaction. So if you are using less than 10 coupons per transaction, then yes, they will eventually add up. Where you have issues is when you use more than 10 coupons per transaction .. You only get bonus points for 10 coupons — so it’s best to split the transcations up and do multiples.
No advice on the solo deal, sorry!
I’ve not been doing much coupon shopping lately, so $1 off a gallon has been pretty good for me lately too! With the price of gas, I’ll take it
Michelle your best bet when you do not receive the gas points is to either fix it with the front end manager or the front office. They can always add the gas points to your card. They have done it for me before.
Here is the number for CS: 1-800-522-2522
As far as so many points, we use coupons. 10 coupons per order = 100 bonus points. If I have 20 coupons, that automatically means two orders for me.
Not only do doubles not track day to day, they do not track order to order. If I have (8) 75¢ alike coupons, I split them into two orders, 4 alike per order, and get all 8 coupons doubled.
Ann
MichelleK take your receipts to cs so they can adjust your gas points, if you should have got them they can add them to your card. I don’t know how the solo deal was found I think someone just bought them and the cat came out unadvertised, maybe someone else has the info on that. I would ask cs about that too. This is what the cat says: buy any solo items between 5/20 & 6/12 buy 2 get $1, b 3 g$3, b4 or more g $4. If your store was participating they will have that info and can force a cat out up to a week after the sale has ended (at least that is what my store says).
Are you sure your card is being scanned every time?
Yes the coupon points will track. Some ways I get extra points is breaking up my orders (I use the self check out most of the time now so I can do back to back orders and not worry about people waiting behind me), use any free coupons I get, use all the coupons that double to make items free, also when Ann post the Tops deals on Friday I look to see if I need to order any coupons so that they will be in by the beginning of the sale. Multiple coupons of the of the sale items are the key to getting high gas points with low oop.
Anyone else have any secrets they want to share? always looking for new ideas?
