Last night hubby and I went to Pathmark. I met two very nice ladies that told me which store not to bother with since it was wiped out. One lady had a binder, and she was in u-scan before I walked up to u-scan, checked out while I did, and was still checking out when I left!
Hubby and I did eight (8) orders. MY best deal (because I was almost out) was Snuggle for $3.99 – 75¢ coupon tripled = $1.24. The bonus for me is it was not the 2x or 3x which tends to gum up my washer.
Hubby’s best deal was Chips Ahoy $1.99 x 2 = $3.98 – $1/2 peel off coupon tripled = 98¢/2 packages.

I had a question about triple coupons. Does that mean you need 3 of the same coupon to apply to the one product?
So if something was $3 and you had 3 $1 off coupons for said product you’d use all three??
Melissa, when they triple a $1 coupon is worth up to $3 so an item that costs $3 or less becomes free (except for sales tax and bottle deposit if applicable). The Pathmark system doesn’t give overage unless there is a problem and they do it manually. If an item costs $2.79 and you have a $1 coupon, it should triple to $2.79.

I don’t think I’ll do any shopping today. I’m resting up after yesterday. My friend and I went to 3 different Pathmarks. I did 8 orders for myself and several for my friend since she was getting more stuff that I was. My 8 orders came to $10.56 of which $3.27 was sales tax and $2 was bottle deposit that I intend to get back. This is what I got:

My friend got a lot more than I did but she also spent a lot more. She isn’t a coupon person and I had to talk her into coming. Towards the end, she got second wind when she discovered that she could get some free Aveeno products with the $1 coupons that I had. Unfortunately my card stopped working because I hit the “transaction limit” for the day. My friend’s card was still working so I checked out with her card. That stuff was really for her anyway. We figured that her card wouldn’t work for much longer either so we had to call it a day. My friend got a lot of free Kandoo wipes, Ivory liquid hand soap and Zest 3-pack bars. She also got the following for free: 1 Pull-up wipes (with the coupon from today’s SmartSource that I managed to get early), 7 packages of Kraft cheese, 2 packages of Herr’s products with Printables, 2 V8 Fusion + Tea with Printables, 14 packs of Orbit gum (I had 7 $1/2 coupons). She also got lots of Snapple 6-packs for $1.50 each. I had some $1 coupons but the third store had packages with $1 peelies. She also got lots of other stuff that wasn’t free but was a lot cheaper than she would normally buy it for.
I sure hope that they’ll be doing this again in the near future.
I forgot to mention that the trunk was full and the back seat was overflowing. My friend’s car didn’t look nearly as neat as Ann’s.
When are we going to get a pathmark???? WOW! how often do they triple coupons??? Might be worth a stop on our way home from vacation, LOL.
This is the second time they’ve done it recently. They did it for 3 days April 29 – May 1 and now for 2 days May 14 – May 15. The first time I didn’t have much notice which limited what I could do. This time I got advanced notice thanks to Ann so I was able to order coupons. I have no idea when or even if they’ll be doing it again but I sure hope they do.
Gita the cashier at the PA store we went to today said they are doing something again next week. We shall see.

WOW!!!!!!! I sure hope that’s right. There were so many terrific coupons in today’s paper that would be great for tripling. I didn’t go back today because I thought the shelves would be empty and I didn’t have anyone to take me. The $1 Ronzoni Garden Delights = a free package. We got those coupons with our inserts so I got 5 packages for free yesterday. The $1 Pull Ups Wipes = a free package. I had one of those yesterday. There were quite a few other coupons that look very promising.
I heard that they were planning another one but they are cancelling it cause it’s not really bringing in new customers. I hope they do another one since I figured out how to multiple transactions. I only got in 3 transactions over 2 days so I didn’t even really break the rules. And it took FOREVER!!! Everything that was free was wiped out in Queens that’s for sure. DH was still giving me hassle about it and refused to go in a transaction!! I shouldn’t be complaining cause at least I got some yogurt, milk, 1 package of cheese, wipes that I need and would have paid a lot more for. Truthfully, my store does not double on a regular basis up to $0.99 like the other stores on Long Island so I choose to shop at S&S because of that. But if they were to double to $0.99 regularly, then I would switch to Pathmark. And I spent a lot at S&S (non-coupon stuff) because they have gas rewards. I still have a lot of coupons left. The couponers in my area really wiped out the store. I didn’t see any binders, but I definitely saw a lot of envies & coupons. And also 4 people (while waiting in line) try to incorrectly use coupons because the correct items were no longer left on the shelf.
I also got sick in the morning (lots of coughing and quite painful) so I couldn’t get out until late. No drug stores. I had to let my remaining $5 precise cpns expire.

I really wanted to get the Purex free and clearin the white bottle but they didnt have it at my RA. Did they have it at your RA or just the original blue bottles?
No they didn’t have it.
April, ditto!!! Looking for the same Purex free and clear but the manager I spoke to said that they did not carry it. Don’t know if that means all RA stores.
Ann, how long of a drive to Pathmark? Carpool? Maybe DH and I can incorporate a store trip into a romantic getaway weekend…and believe me, it would be only to the mood! Savings are sexy!!
I went this afternoon, did six more orders and got another great haul! This time it was Propel, Crisco Olive Oil ($6.39 in the PA store, $3.39 after coupon), Reynolds wrap, Palmolive, Hormel Completes, more hormel chili, chips, and other stuff I can’t recall off the top of my head. The store was fairly well stocked, clean, and the cashier was suuuuuuper!

OMG! That is soo amazing.
How long did that take? Just 2 transactions took me 1.5 hrs, and I gathered all my stuff in 5-7 minutes. So the rest was in line, waiting for people, waiting for couponers to organize, to this and that, to get other items while checking out… it was ridiculous.
It took a lot longer on Saturday than on Sunday. I was unfamiliar with the store on Saturday, so it took longer.

So, this was by far my most “unorganized” deals if any and I’m just plain EXHAUSTED!!!! My dd’s sweet sixteen was yesterday. We had 45 ppl in attendance, all at my house, w/ me cooking and prepping, you get my drift. We had monsoons in our forecasts so the tarps just didn’t quite hold, and everyone ended up being inside. I was still up at approx. 2:27AM mopping cuz I’m just a neurotic IDIOT!!!!
So, up AGAIN at 6:16AM cuz dh is snoring like a %^$$# and all I”m thinking is “where the heck did I put the breath right strips at”??? Seriously, seriously???
Moving right along, I have 7 nephews, 6 neices, 4 girls, 1 future SIL, and 6 girlfriends all sleeping over!!! Now, since I knew about this party I did indeed have my cpns clipped and my deals done in advance, the only thing I FORGOT to do… was to print out my survey’s. So… at approx. 7:00AM I’m trying to print out survey’s. I walked downstairs in the family room and promptly, stepped not on one BUT TWO CHILDREN!!! The dogs are barking, the kids are getting up, I NEED COFFEE!!!!! The hell w/ it.
So, I went to Tops and bought eggs, Rosina gnocci & 6 turkey breasts, gravy mixes and 4 gallons of milk. I was so distraught because I didn’t have my cpn binder… I felt… NAKED!!! In the dairy aisle I was talking to one of my favorite stock boys. He told me he had to discard all this milk because it was expiring on the 20th of May. I’m like, “ohhhh too bad you can’t discount it”. He said, “good idea, let me ask my mgr”. Fast forward a few mintues and… the manger after talking to me and telling me how he hated sending this milk back only to be fed to the “hogs”, sold me the gallons of milk for $1 a gallon. I thanked him profusely and helped him and my favorite stock boy *Ed*, set up and write the *instore special* display for the milk!!

So even though I was sans coupon binder I stil made out w/ over $60.00 savings and paying a measly $57.89 for 6 turkey breasts, 3 dozen eggs, 6 frozen gnocci, 4 Armour sausage, 2 McCormick chicken gravy, 2 McCormick mushroom gravy, 3 campbell’s mushroom soup & 4 gls milk!!!
After I made everyone sausage gravy & biscuits w/ scrambled cheesy eggs for breakfast, I had a coffee ALONE TIME meltdown and left to go to RA. (WHY ARE THEY STILL HERE, UGH… CALGON…

Truth be told I didn’t factor in my discount for this and I ended up being short and had to purchae the Everlseek conditioner as afterthought. However, again my $10 Loreal didn’t print. So when the AM was called in she said sometimes it takes up to 2 days’ for the UPS to print… my response; “that’s not acceptable to me. Your ad states that if I purchase $25 of Loreal, I will receive a $10UP, so that is what I”m expecting”. So she returned and repurchaced the Loreal Eversleek, and then the $10 magically appeared, whatever…. Total OOP was $0, (thank you Ann, for my FRE LOREAL HAIR COLOR CPN), just in time for this transaction. No UPs used either, just a zero balance!!
#3 – 2 Schiff Move Free for dh. His transactions ( I have been looking for deals for him though). I gave him my 2 Schiff $5 MQ and a $3/15. Using my card he paid a little over $17 for two extra bonus size pkgs!!
Came home, turned over the turkey breasts (dinner), then helped my two older dd’s deplete my stockpile again on their way back to Toronto…
Looks like I need to go shopping huh???

How does triple coupons work with $1off two items at pathmark? I tried to use a $1off two bounty at waldbaums on Sat. Each single roll was 1.25 so I thought it would triple to $3, so two free. instead it only tripled an extra 25 cents. I was told it would only triple up to the cost of a single roll even though the coupon was for two items. So I returned the items. Is this the way its supposed to work?

I did 4 orders, 2 post coupons, a variance and a return and NONE of them produced a survey. I’ve been drowning in surveys and today nothing. Did anyone get survey’s today or was it just me?

Nope, you are not the only one… no surveys for me either yesterday. So I think as of yesterday a lot of the stores that were printing every transaction went back to randomly printing for some people. So I think the fun is over for me at least.
Liz, I received 4 survey coupons yesterday; did three transactions plus one precsription refill. So my area hasn’t shut them off yet. Oh yea!

Here’s a thought………….after not getting my week-end warrior or allergy ups last Sunday, I am wondering if they are turning some things off on Sundays (especially since the week-end warrior deal printed later in the week)? Can they do that? Probably. Don’t like it much.

I was at the checkout for a long time, I did (5) separate orders, next time I’ll bring my daughter so it won’t take so long but I did great in there. I went Sunday morning also and did another (5) separate orders they hate to see me come in there. I heard they are doubling up to $2.00 next week hope to see you and your husband again. I got 4 Goody’s Headache powders at Rite Aid for $4.99 each. Used 4 $2 off coupons, a $3 off $15 store coupon and got $4 in +UP’s. Hard to beat roughly $5 for 4 boxes of this stuff.

My day was completely a farce because of my brain. I was too tired to post afterward, but I did well:)
At RA I screwed up the Rimmel deal because one of the products wasn’t Rimmel although I found it in the same section. Then I behaved a little goofy and didn’t know where I put my Ups or my $5. After getting thru that, the clerk refunded my Rimmel onto my Pinecone card. Then I couldn’t use the card because it didn’t get posted right away. So, I made $9.40 on the Rimmel deal that I didn’t do and got the biotene. The clerk was exceptionally wonderful.
Next Tops. I loaded my cart with 31 glass bottles of Honest Tea and a few other items to get to $40 so I could use a 5/40. I also had a $4 catalina. I had 22 $1 coupons for Honest Tea from Recyclebank. Rang up my order and the $3 off of the 10 tea didn’t show up. The mystery was solved that I needed to get the plastic bottles. So I took off to get 31 plastic bottled Honest Tea. The staff at the store was wonderful! Of course I was holding up the self check out. I was buying some soup broth, but I picked up one at 2.99 instead of 2.50 so I had to get another one. I only had about $3.50 on me so I was very worried about the total. Then the clerk said I was -$2.88. Huh? I couldn’t figure it out. I took off to get 3 more Honest Tea. My bill was 16 cents. When I got home I realized that the problem was I didn’t get charged for the watermelon.

Ladies, did you all do separate orders in a single Pathmark? Saturday, I did 2 separate orders. Sunday, I had a cart full of stuff. I tried to separate orders, I was told I couldn’t do it. The cashier got a front end mgr. to tell me, they could ring all my items together, but only 10 cpns. would triple. I told her she could take the cart full of items back. Then she gave me a hard time on the Voila cpns, and I told her take them off, then had her add on the Chips Ahoy cpn deal. I was furious at the attitude I was given. Usually I stand up and get firm and won’t back down. I was too ticked to even demand a store manager. However, I couldn’t stand the thought of losing cpns. that expired yesterday. So 9:30pm, I conned my daughter to go with me to another Pathmark. We did 2 separate orders at self checkout. Not only were we scoped like criminals, but of course no Propel, no mustard, chili, etc., etc.I did run into another couponer, who told me she heard that Pathmark is supposed to do the triple cpn deal one week, then the up to and including $2 cpns being doubled through July. I’m in DE, so I guess we’ll see if they go through with this or not. Is anyone else disgusted with so many restrictions, value reduction of coupons or the lack of REALLY hot sales since Extreme Couponing hit the airwaves??? I can tell you it’s tough here in my neck of the woods.

When you guys say “0 oop or .2 oop” is that your actual amount paid? In California we have to pay tax on the before coupon total, so it would never be that low. Are some states different?
Hillary tax is never included in totals since it varies from state to state and county to county. If I lived in NH, there is no tax on consumer goods, so it would be 0%. If I lived in Texas there is no tax on goods after coupon, so that wouldn’t be the 6% tax those without coupons pay. If I Iived in NC or IL and had to pay tax on food, it would again be different.
Those buying merchandise at Rite Aid and have a discount attached to the card would quite possibly pay a different tax amount on a transaction than the person behind them in line.
Due to all the variations, tax is seldom reported.

RA shopping this week was WORSE than Walgreens! I had transactions planned by Friday night and because the ad was not specific enough on those airwick kits (manager told me that the $9.99 are not included) I argued that it did not state a size or price requirement, so the compacts should be honored. THEn, I had a coupon which the cashier would not take because it said Crest on it – instead of Oral B. I shop in a small town, so while the shelf tag said Crest, the new floss said OralB on it. Then he didn’t want to take my $3/15 off, saying that the total was below $15 (after he scanned coupons, of course) It was just ridiculous. They said that there have been a lot of frustrated people with UPS not printing because of the ambiguity of the ads, so ALWAYS go by the shelf tags – but the problem with that is NOT EVERYTHING is marked.
I goofed at Wags, buying two lunchables and two deli creations in the same transaction… so I only got $1 RR. The Dole snacks were a nice surprise @ .25/ea. i checked out at the pharmacy – there are such great cashiers back there! I also snagged some $1 tearpads for Magnum – which are just NOW going on sale this week at our local Price Chopper…. for $3.50 each!
Price chopper was a nice score with the arm & hammer dryer sheets – .50/ea after coupons. I will go back to stock up on more of them and Smarttaste pasta – you can’t beat free, and I actually like it!
What in the world are you going to do with all that chili? LOL. Great haul though!
It is going to have to be donated, Emily. Hubby has this grand idea that he is going to eat it all – in how many years I want to know.
