Rite Aid Money Makers beginning 5/9
Great Walgreens Deals beginning 5/9
Wow! CVS Deals beginning 5/9

******

Hubby went away earlier this week, and for some reason the pooch has decided not to stick to his regular sleep schedule. Every morning he’s been waking me up between 5-6am instead of his normal 7:30 am. Saturday he got me up at 2am and I never did get back to sleep after that. So, last night I was exhausted … and Max again got me up at 6am this morning. I ended up flopping down on the sofa in the family room and sleeping until after 8!

While I needed the rest, I was worried I was going to miss out on all the good stuff at Walgreens and Rite Aid.

I worried for naught.

I went first to Walgreens where I discovered the body wash was $6.99! That is a far cry from the $4.99 price that was listed on their online store last week!

I did do one deal since I have (10) $3 RR to use by Sunday:

(3) $5.59 (that was with the 20% off sale price)
(3) M&M Candy Bars 49¢ (filler)
= $18.24
- (3) $4 manufacturer coupons
= $6.24
- (2) $3 RR
= 24¢ + I received another $5 RR

At this point I am holding 11 more $4 Nivea coupons and I just did not want to pay the 8.75% sales tax on $16.77 when I could pay it on $11.97 at Rite Aid, and I had a Rite Aid gift card to pay the tax. Sure I still would have made money at Walgreens, and I may do the deal one more time since I will accumulate a few more $4 coupons this week, but Walgreens is a chore. It just is not fun for me to shop there. So, it was off to Rite Aid for me.

Rite Aid was short and sweet.

(5) Nivea Body Wash $3.99
(3) Carefree 99¢
(1) Eos $2.99
(1) Bic Shavers $5.99
= $31.90
- $5/$25 RA coupon
= $26.90
- $25.92 manufacturer coupons
= 98¢
- $4 SCR
= $3.02 profit!

At this first Rite Aid the clerk adjusted all the coupons down one penny so there was no overage. I went to a second store where I picked up five more body wash and a magazine and they clerk gave overage.

After that I went off to Tops and bough the Edy’s dibbs to test for a $4 Catalina possibility…. nope. I did not receive a Catalina when I purchased $12 worth of Edy’s dibbs.

And finally I ran into Wegmans to pick up some eggs and the Nature’s Marketplace Booklets.

I’m trying to figure out what they were giving away because at 10:15 on a Sunday morning the place was a mob scene! Hordes of people falling over the organic produce and the cheese department of all places. *shrug* I do not get the attraction.

And that was it for me. I have to go out later, so I will stop at Target for TPCs then. I still have a bunch of RR to unload and a few more Nivea to pick up, but all in all an easy shopping morning with no hitches.

How did you do today?

I really like these posts, for some reason reading how others buy helps me put together new scenarios…it is like it helps my mind start working or something.

Also how many papers do you get each week…that is A LOT of Nivea coupons (we did not get them so I am waiting on my citculars to come from eBay, our RP’s come in the mail the Tuesday before they come out in the paper for you)

Hi Holly,

I got 16. Usually I get 10 newspapers per week (and order extras from Glenda), but with the great coupons this week I decided to get a few extras.

So sad that I don’t get the same rite aid deals you do- i have the (extremely) shortened ad and most of the deals that you set up are not on sale :( Oh, well, still got 4 cover girls- all free- and 4 pairs of kids foster grants for my gift stock – all free. Had to get the nivea at walgreens. thanks again for all you do. beth

Hi Ann,

I got 3 Synovium pain relief gel, a ThermaCare package, newspapers and Pure & Natural handsoap for $4.09 with 20% Wellness discount. I had a $1/$10 Household CRT from last week purchase, and the cashier said I could use it as long as the total was $10 or more. We agreed that “household” is such an ambiguous word and if it scans, it’s fine. :D

Hi Holly,

Does your town have free newspapers publication? I just discovered that mine does 2 weeks ago and the early Sunday edition has coupon inserts! The great thing about it is that it has better denominations than the ones I buy for hubby to read. You may want to check out your grocer’s newsstands and see if there’s a free paper. Good luck!

Hi Beth,

Did you ever try and scan the product to see if it is just unadvertised in the short ad? Occasionally the Southern CA ad will get something not advertised in our “national” ad, but when I scan it it will be on sale about 50% of the time.

Hi Tegan,

LOL I love it! Those xx/xx scan off anything when the minimum price threshold is met… the department does not matter. Very smart on your part.

I start out couponing with CVS. They stopped the 5/25 I used to get so I only go there for the occasional deal. I now shop at Riteaid. I love the 5/25 and 5/20. And they don’t seem to mark their prices up before a sale.

Most of the newspapers around here didn’t have the good Nivea coupons. I didn’t expect much from the New York Times but the Daily News and the Journal News (a Westchester paper) didn’t have then either. Fortunately, Newsday had the Nivea coupons so I got 6 of them. The store near me only has 3 so I had to hit another store near the Rite Aid for the other 3.

I did really great at Rite Aid. I got 8 Carefree liners, 2 GE CFLs, 2 Profoot Synovium Pain Relief Gels and 1 Profoot Heal Rescue Cream. I spent $6.98 and I’ll be getting $12 in refunds. I haven’t cut out the Nivea coupons yet. I’ll use them later this week at CVS and Rite Aid. CVS’s extrabuck deal is the best deal because you make a profit of $1.48 (before sales tax) but you can only do that deal once which will leave me 2 coupons to use a Rite Aid.

Gita, the limit for the nivea deal is actually 5 although it is not advertised as 1. Just look at the bottom of ur receipt and it shouldn’t say limit reached until you have done the deal 5 times. One thing to note though is that you can only do the deal 1 time per transaction or else only $5 extra bucks will print. Not sure why but I have done this and read it on several sites.

Made quite a few stops today. Used dollar doublers at wegmans and got a large onion, 2 small cans muir glen sauce ( thanks Wendy), 4 dark reeses, 5 ronzoni smart taste spaghetti, goya lemon lime soda, small bag of honey mustard and onion snyder pretzles for a total of $0.89. At tops I just picked up 4 box of ronzoni healthy harvest pasta for free after doubled coupons. Walgreens I got 8 sure deodorants for $1.06. 2 of them had try me free stickers. At cvs I got 4 nivea bodywashes, the depends multipack, 1 dawn plus renewal dishsoap, 1 colgate , 2 clearanced puffs for a total of $1.83 after coupons and a $5 ecb used. Got back $1 for bag tag, 6.99 for depends, 5.00 for nivea, 2.00 for colgate. Rite aid I got 6 covergirl clean liquid foundations, 1 king size reese, profoot flex tastics (looks neat) and total was $1.72. I still have a ton more to do at rite aid this week. Target I got a large can of goodstart baby formula, vaseline sheer infusion lotion, 6 scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaners and my total was $6.70 which I paid with previously earned gift cards and got back $10 in gift cards and I will submit for another $5 scjohnson rebate. I will be doing several trips to wegmans and rite aid this week. Probably daily :)

Sunday morn shopping has become Mon morning shopping for me. CVS was a great MM. I did two transactions on two different cards, first I bought 4 nivea men’s body wash, 2 colgate total, 2 total floss, used 4 nivea men coupons, 2 $1/1 colgate, 1 b1g1 total floss, 1 $1/1 total floss, 2 $2/2 cvs crt bodywash, paid $10 ecb, and got $13 ecb back.

Then I bought 2 nivea women bodywash, 2 nivea lip care, 2 colgate total, 2 total floss,1 carefree liners used 1 b1g1 nivea womens bodywash, 1 $4/1 bodywash, 1 b1g1 nivea lip care, 1 $1/1 nivea lipcare, 1 $2/2 cvs crt bodywash, 1 b1g1 total floss, 1 $1/1 total floss, 2 colgate total $1/1, 1 $4/1 cvs crt carefree, paid with $8 ecb, got $15 ecb back.

I totally know what you mean about not enjoying shopping at wags, I feel exactly the opposite about RA! CVS is great for deals and MM and easy rolling ECBs, but something about when I step into RA it’s so calm and peaceful and so underestimated, love it!

Then went to RA picked up 4 eos lipcare, 2 nivea women bodywash, 1 reeses peanutbutter cup (Im preg and crave peanutbutter all the time!)
paid $5 will get back $8 for eos scr. My eos rang up $2.63 with 20% wellness discount. Have to go back for the profoot cream, I use this stuff regularly, it’s soooo lovely, want to get some for my dear MIL.

Ann, I know you do Sunday morn, shopping, but what about the rest of the week?! I’d love to know if you make more stops in the week….curious minds want to know! ;)

I only shop occasionally during the week. If there is a hot deal at one of the grocery stores, or if I am waiting for a coupon order I will deviate from Sunday Morning Shopping (or when we have plans Sunday morning). Sometimes a CVS or Rite Aid coupon pops and I run out to utilize that.

I do buy papers on Saturday morning, so many times I will do some shopping when I am out and about then. Last week I stopped at Tops on Friday and spent $68! (The total was $200 before bonus card and coupons).

For the most part I like to go on Sunday. Not only are the stores quiet at 9am, but if there are any glitches I can report them here and warn other folks before they head out for the day.
