Hubby and I left the house a few minutes before 9am and pulled into Rite Aid as they opened. We were the only people there. I gathered all my items, and decided to just do two orders at the same store. This was what I ended up doing:
(2) CoverGirl (2/$6.99)
(2) Almay Mascara (2/$6.99)
(1) Oral-B Toothbrush ($2.74)
(1) DayQuil ($4.99)
(1) Metamucil ($9.99)
= $31.70
- $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon
= $26.70
- $14.49 manufacturer coupons
= $12.21
- $13 SCR
= 79¢ profit + $17.72 credit for SCR#18
(1) John Freida ($5)
(2) Biore (2/$10)
(1) Oral B Power ($5.99)
(1) Crest Rinse ($4.99)
(1) Pampers Wipes ($2.49)
= $28.47
- $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon
= $23.47
- (3) $1 adperk coupons
= $20.47
- $13.50
= $6.97
- $5 SCR
= $1.97 + $13.47 credit towards SCR #18
Added together, this worked out to $1.18 OOP + a $10 Rite Aid Gift Card.
I did learn something new today: If you have an FSA card, you can use it on the order (assuming you purchase FSA eligible items). The FSA portion of your bill will be deducted, and then you can pay for the rest of the order with cash or CC. I always thought you had to separate out the FSA products to use the card, so I was very happy to learn I was wrong!
I ended up not as much making money on the John Freida offer because the Albany papers I got yesterday did not have the $3 manufacturer coupon! Local did, so I decided to get one John Frieda, (2) Biore, use (3) $1 adperk coupons, the $3 John Frieda coupon, the B1G1 biore coupon, for a total cost of $5, then get the $5 SCR, so only a $1 money maker for me instead of a $2 money maker on (3) John Freida with (3) $3 coupons + (3) adperk coupons.
The coupons at the bottom of the Rite Aid CRT this morning are: $1/$1.99+ Pain Relief and $1/$1.99+ Hair Care. These expire 3/20/10.
After Rite Aid, hubby decided he wanted to go to breakfast (which was have not done in f-o-r-e-v-e-r), so I will go to CVS in the city myself tomorrow.
And then we hit Aldi’s. He picked up the ad starting the 14th, so I will type that up and post it.
So, that was it for us. Easy-peasy morning where everything went smoothly.
How did you do this morning?

I think today was actually one of the best days shopping with coupons. But like every shopping, there’s usually one of those hiccups, and you wonder why you still shop there.
so first i headed to walmart
there i got 3 rotel, 2 muir glen,1 travel size baby oil, 4 newspapers, and 4 travel size old spice body wash.
first she told me she couldn’t accept printed coupons, and i said how come, and she replied that’s what I was told, and then I said i have the coupon policy with me that states you can take them. (i think what made her say that was because on the back side there’s other printed stuff on there, i reuse my paper any way I can i paid for it, i’m going to get the most out of it.) but she she asked one of the CSM’s and she said it was ok. and it rang up beautifully, and i only paid $5.
then i stopped at wags
and this is why i’m not shopping there anymore dealing with their RR
so i got 3/$8
2 crest toothpaste , 1 floss, 1 candy 29 cents (filler)
used coupons and 2RR
paid $4
i didn’t get my 3RR, so i went back inside to get it, and the manager tried to tell me that because I used coupons it wouldn’t print, and she couldn’t do anything about it. uh-huh, just lost a customer-i’m tired of this yo-yo thing going on with them. so i am only going to shop there when it doesn’t involve RR
then i went to Target, IT WAS AWESOME
I LOVE male cashiers, they are alot most easy going and less crappy about coupons.
from there i got
aquamarine movie, 3 olay body washes, 4 gillette body washes (priced $1.79 instead of 1.99), 1 physician’s formula (facial makeup remover lotion with a $2 MQ orginially priced at $6.19-so definitely keep an eye out at your target)
paid 22 dollars and I paid with the GC for turning in my old cell phones, not to mention that i got another 5 added to my GC from the last time i was in there and did the olay deal.
plus i’m sending in for the 5 MIR for physicians formula, and the cashier just pushed the $4 coupons for gillette through, so awesome!
i was going to stop in rite aid, but i found out that i didn’t get those john frieda coupons either! kinda irritated but i might buy online, who knows.
so i went to CVS and there i did 3 seperate transactions, but i got : 2 dawn hand renewel, 4 boxes of pop tarts, 1 tag bag, 2 oral-b toothbrushes, 1 gillette body wash, 1 gillette deodorant, and 2 nivea lip care. spent a total of $7 even, and i have a 5ECB, and 1ECB. i love CVS, they are my fav by far!
but i’m definitely going to get more into rite aid since one it’s never crowded there, and 2 they are always nice. i didn’t stop into farm fresh today, i definitely will on wed.
Wow DD, you had a wonderful morning.
A the teenage-male cashier. Every couponer’s dream!

I got hassled over my B1G1 Starburst and Skittles coupons at Rite Aid. The manager asked if I wanted to use them some other time because he couldn’t take them since they were already B1G1 and “then I would be getting 2 for free.” It took all I had to not say “Duh buddy, that’s the whole point!” Instead, I said “well then why does Rite Aid’s coupon policy state that I AM allowed to use a B1G1 coupon on a B1G1 sale item?” He said he would “do it this time” (I’m sure you’ve heard that famous line before!). Of course I didn’t have the policy with me but I emailed customer service when I got home. What made it worse was that we paid at the pharmacy counter because we were buying Advil Cold & Sinus. They did the transaction over again because the candy didn’t ring up B1G1 free in the computer the first time. So not only did we have to go through the age verification for the medicine twice but we created quite a line behind us! I hate being made to feel like I’m a criminal when it’s not my fault that they put them on sale that way. Par for the course for the way my week has gone…
I love how you called him on it and got the “just this one time” response. I wonder if he felt you would let it go at that point?
The B1G1 coupon for CoverGirl face with the B1G1 sale gave the cashier fits this morning (she had to have an over-ride), but she did take it off with no questions. That was highly unusual because as great as my local Rite Aids are, they hate to take a B1G1 coupon on a B1G1 sale.

I went to wags..and then remembered why I don’t go there anymore…haven’t been “really” doing RA in awhile, will have to start up again as there is a teenage boy who just started last week and doesn’t blink an eye with a coupons. CVS is pleasant..as always.
Yeah CVS and Rite Aid are always really good (or at least not bad) experiences for me. Even a good Walgreens experience can be painful. I wonder why that is?

I had a hard time with the Cover Girl coupon too! And I usually have NO problem with the BOGO sale + BOGO coupons. At one store, the manager rang me up, I went through the same exact convo as Jen. He did it but “just this time.” I wrote to corporate about it! I would just like him to know his policy (and I asked him if he had one around so I could show him, and he ignored me completely). “You’re going to get 2 Free.” I said “Yes I understand” and tried to explain what the policy says and said “the manufacturer is buying it for me.” Haha.
I had told myself to remember to print the policy but totally forgot!
I was planning on going to another Rite Aid anyways, so I ran home first to print my coupon policy just in case! Good thing I had it – although that manager was much nicer, and I did show her my policy and it was fine. HOWEVER they had to override the computer and I know it wasn’t b/c it was a BOGO sale + BOGO coupon b/c I’ve done it before no problem. I think it was b/c the coupon wants to only pay for powder and concealer. Even though, as my nice cashier pointed out, blush (which is what I bought) is most certainly a face product and if they want it to be only for powder + concealer the coupon should state that. I will say that at the first Rite Aid I did buy concealer and powder and it went right through.
I was actually thinking I would have no problem with the BOGO Cover Girl but good thing I had my policy. It’s nice to let people know I am absolutely not trying to get away with anything and only want to do what is w/in the guidelines and get a good deal! Woo hoo!
I am so glad it worked out for you Felicia!

Hi Kari,
WOW! Nice job!
Ann
I was able to get 4 foundation and 4 blush at Rite Aied for a total of $ 2.80 tax only.
Then I was off to Walgreens where I got two massaging insoles for $2.74 after the $ 10.00 Catalina Coupon.
Last stop was Tops for my eye round corned beef and cabbage, napkins, Soft Scrub, chicken broth, anytizers, spritzers, cheddar cheese and tartar sauce sall for $20.21.
I enjoyed every minute of taking these cheap items out of the store.
I dont understand where you get multiple Rite Aid Values Coupons. Do you have multiple a/c’s? B/c I tried using another computer and the same a/c and it wont allow you to watch that video(Biore) again b/c it already was watched and coupon printed. when you print – do you just print 4 copies? Is that allowed? I’m relatively new to Rite Aid and their system.
Thanks!
Hi Sara,
Just sent your printer to print however many alike adperk you want.
Now remember they do say “limit one” so if the cashier says you can only use one, ask the cashier to try scanning the others “to see if they will work”. They will of course scan because Rite Aid corporate does not have the registers limit. But if the cashier refuses to try, all you can do is ask for the manager and hope the manager will allow multiples of the same adperk coupons.
Ann
thanks – I will give it a whirl!
Ann,
Did you submit your Sunday receipts yet? Mine came back that I did not meet the $10 gift card. I am trying to figure out where I messed up. Just wondered if anyone else had the problem.
Hi Wendy,
I have not submitted yet. I was reading that some John Frieda and the Align were not crediting CA people. I’m not sure when that will be fixed, or if we will all be faxing in CRTs.
Ann
OPPS! RA $10 GC posted today. Yeah!
Ann,
First of all, thanks so much for posting these deal ideas, they are so helpful. Anyway, I did the Almay deal you have listed above, and when I submitted my receipt online it stated that I didn’t purchase enough items. I emailed them and got a reply back “Our records indicate that your purchase of Alm Oc Lngth W/Bns did not qualify for a rebate because you had to purchase two and buy one get one free does not count.” Did you find this problem also? I thought it was because I had found a “bonus” package mascara that included an eyeliner, so perhaps the system didn’t recognize it??? I would appreciate your input. Thanks!
Whooooo that is a first Stephanie! Did you purchase two bonus packs and only one credited? If so I am completely stumped.
However if you purchased one bonus, one non-bonus and the UPCs are different, then you would be correct. The bonus sizes do not always credit electronically at Rite Aid.
However, the SCR says “on two” it does not say “when you spend so-and-so”. I’d write again and point this out.
