My pooch woke me up at 5:30 this morning. I was completely incoherent, so when he came back in and wanted to play, I gave him a look and plopped down on the couch.

Next thing I knew, it was 9:30! Poop. I wanted to be out of the house at 8:30 – looks like that wasn’t happening.

I finally left the house at 10:30 and figured it would be a waste of a morning trying to obtain any of the sale items, but I felt I had to at least try.

First stop was Rite Aid. The lamisil was not in our ad, but I picked it up anyway planning on getting it with (2) J&J baby powder and using the $3/$15 wellness+ coupon. It would still be a decent deal. Several problems developed when I discovered I had left the $3/$15 coupon at home – I had every other coupon I clipped, no idea where that went! And when I got to the register the lamisil rang up for the sale price even though it was not in the ad! The woman hanging the tags did not have one for the lamisil either. If it is not in you ad, price check it. Unfortunately the wonder pistachios were not on sale (not in the ad either). You win some, you lose some. Valentine’s candy was 75% off (and I forgot my seasonal $1/$1.99 coupon *sigh*).

This is what Rite Aid looked like for me:

(6) J&J Baby powder – at this store they were $4.29, 1¢
(1) Lamisil $7.99
(1) Finesse $2.99
(2) Rocher Chocolate Hearts $1.74 each
= $27.36
- $5/$25 coupon
= $22.36
- $7 adperk coupons
= $15.36
- $9 manufacturer coupons
= $6.36
- $8 SCR
= $1.64 profit

I could have made more if I had the $1/$1.99 season product end of receipt coupon (got another today, I may go back), and if I had left off the second chocolate since I did not need it to pad my order.

Then it was off to Target where I picked up the Scotch fur fighter, a swiffer wet jet (for my grandfather) and a swiffer sweeper. I wanted the fruit crisps, but not only were they still out, there was no longer a shelf tag for them! Wow! I hope that changes.

This is what Target looked like for me:

(1) Swiffer Wet Jet $19.99
(1) Swiffer Sweeper $8.99
(2) Swiffer Wet Jet Refills $4.89
(2) Scotch Fur Fighters $3.99 NOTE: The product on sale is normally $5.99. It is one reusable handle and 2 refill sheets. It is NOT the larger size.
= $46.74
- $5 Target swiffer wet jet coupon
- $2 Target swiffer sweeper coupon
= $39.74
- (2) $4 scotch fur fighter coupons (she did adjust)
= $31.74
- (2) free refills wyb kits coupons ($9.78)
= $21.96
- (2) $5 gift cards I had
= $11.96
and sending for $27.98 in swiffer refunds
= $16.02 profit

I ran next door to Wegmans to check the price of the fruit crisps (can you tell I wanted these?) knowing Tops was $2.89. Wegmans was $2.69, so I decided to get two boxes. When I got up to the register, noticed the SC on the screen *gasp* A SALE! They ended up $2.50 – 75¢ doubled coupon = $1
I checked, and the small bottle of greenworks is still $2.99, free after printable. I did not see the stain remover.

After that, it was off to Walgreens where I could not help myself, I did the Hershey deal twice. I found a $1.50 RR at the bottom of my purse, padded with marked down erasers (29¢) and used (4) $1 coupons. So now I have (2) $5 RR and next week’s newspapers only have one insert. I think I am going to have to look at the ad veeeerrrrrryyyy closely.

My last stop was Tops where I gathered more extended prices and the new grocery and GM Catalina offers. The dairy-guys still had last week’s sales up, so they were waaaayyyy behind.

All–in-all a most profitable morning!

How did you do?

Lamisil was not in our “paper” sales ad BUT it is in our online ad? It also rang up at the $7.99 price and it was SCR tagged at my RA store.

Los Angeles area did not get the sales price. So, I’m thinking maybe a “Wellness” area thing?

At Wags I got the Excedrin Menstrual Complete 20 gels….it does ring up at $2.50…used $2 excedrin coupons from coupons.com…= 50 cents…got $2RR. Did this twice and used the RR’s toward the Right Guard Deodorant deals.

Got 10 papers at RA as I get 20% off with my wellness card and used the $3/$15. Hope the coupons turn out to be worth my while.

Will check out Target later in the week.

Ann..Thanks

Is there any way to print more of those Excedrin coupons from coupons.com by switching zip codes or something?

Today was pretty good, atleast i was proud at how quickly i went in and went out, but I also will miss a good deal too because i’m not looking around.
first we didn’t go to walmart boo! and on top of that i didn’t get a smart source in one of the papers that i bought, argh, that made me really mad! but then i got over it. i guess that i will have check to make sure my inserts are in there whenever i go to buy a newspaper, just another thing added to the list. We only spent around 33 dollars today, as far as actual retail it’s probably twice that atleast.

And those fruit crisps are really good, i told my friend to try them out, they only had the blueberry but i really like them, better than i thought i would.

The zip code won’t matter, because you can print without putting in a zip code. Only two per computer, period. This is why I have a desktop, two laptops and I print from work. ;)

oh i completely forgot that at rite aid the manager recognizes me now, so i’m gonna take that as a good thing, and she even said to me that i was quick in getting everything because she said that i usually take a little bit to gather my stuff LOL, so she asked me if i play the game of life (i guess some people don’t, not sure why not i scored a free tresemme styling product). so she just handed me a handful of those little cards, and she even told me to come back friday because they will be giving more because the game of life ends saturday. whoo-hoo maybe i scored some more free coupons!

What deal did you miss?

Laura February 21, 2010 at 4:10 pm

My Target does not even carry the Scotch Fur Fighters with the single refill. The only one they carry is the bigger one with the 5 refills so they sold me that one for 3.99 AND honored the $4.00 coupon (adjusted to $3.99)!!!!!!!!!!!! WooHOO for Target!!!

Love your site, btw!!

My Wegmans would not accept the Greenworks coupon :( They said the $3.00 was over the price and if they adjusted it down it would be a free product and they do not accept free internet printed coupons!! I am getting so very tired of the excuses all the time and everywhere I am about to give up. And I have been doing this for 40+ years and it is just getting so hard.

Awwww Mary, I am sorry it did not work for you. Try another Wegmans?

And YAY! Someone who has been couponing longer than I have.

Seems completely WRONG to me that you would buy something with the intention of asking for a refund for being “unsatisfied” ie: swiffer refund

Hi Deb,

I could go a number of ways with my response, but I’ll be nice and ask you this: Did I ever say I was going to write I was dissatisfied? If I wrote “LOVE your product, gimme my money back”, they would refund my money (seriously, I’ve done it before).

What I will write (if a reason is required) is what I write on all satisfaction guarantees: Too Expensive.

If it is not completely free, it is always, IMO, too expensive.

Even if I am dissatisfied, I am not going to do the work of their marketing department and tell them why. Next time, they should just offer a straight PP refund.

I agree with Ann on the Swiffer. I purchased a Swiffer Wet Jet awhile ago and did the refund. I would not have bought this product due to the cost if not for the Satisfaction guarantee. And, my reasoning was it was too expensive for what was offered.

well actually the first post was alot longer and somehow it deleted the middle part of what i wrote and combined the first part with the last part.
going in and getting what i want and then leaving–i might miss getting something at a good price because i’m not actually looking around shopping. but that’s ok, that’s what everyone’s blogs are for (that’s what i meant by i could miss a good deal)!

we headed to target and i got 2 method laundry detergent, i wanted to try it out and better now with the high dollar coupons than later at full price, but this lady infront of me picked it up, and i thought she was gonna tell the cashier that she wanted it, but she was only curious about it.

then we went to wags, and i spent less than a dollar on 2 scrunchies, 3 cans of tomato sauce, and 2 glade candles, and i got back 4RR.

then we were off to rite aid, and there i got 3 boxes of kellog’s pop tarts, 2 J&J baby lotion, and 2 clearanced almay eye shadow at $1.87, the starting prices for the BOGO almay was $7.99, so i just decided to get the free stuff instead. and i paid $5, i’m going back to get the NYC nail polish and 2 cans of izze, and i went through all the game of life tags and i got a match on winning a Wii system, so hopefully i will win, that would be really awesome!

i headed over to cvs and i got the last physicians formula bamboo mirror compact with the try me free sticker. and i got 2 boxes of cereal and the earinse, i also got printed off a 5 off 15 but it expires this week, it couldn’t be til next sunday? oh well, so now i’m gonna check it out and see if there is a good deal to be had. if not oh well it happens.

then our gps took us to sams club instead of a regular walmart, and then the other walmart we went to is a regular walmart (they still have those) but then one of the newspapers happened to be missing a smartsource, not that it had great coupons that i was wanting but there were a few that i did like. so oh well, just gotta take a look from now on. looks like we are stuck shopping at this crummy walmart or making the effort to go at the commissary (we live off base) and it’s alway crowded, i hate shopping with a huge crowd.

over all we spent around 33 dollars today, and that’s pretty good for us–>and we’re still on budget! YAY :D

Holy Cow! I hope you did win DD! Please let us know.

Did the regular physician’s formula count for the ECB? When I was writing that up I was going to list the rebate, but the ad seemed to indicate refills only.

I went to Target and got in on some of the 90% valentines – and then later at night, I went to WG to use up my RR – no other cpns. So I didn’t use any cpns yesterday except the RR. However, I did get about $8 worth of valentines day items. :) Walgreens – I just got 2 newspapers, a gallon of milk & 4 arizonas. Paid $2 OOP.

I still have a $6 ECB to use that expires today. Will probably burn it instead of rolling it.

A little late on this post but hope it helps beat out the spammers ;-)

Yeah i did get the 5ECB from the compact mirror (no refill) physician’s formula, I didn’t even notice that ad said something different. I think it had a tag that said get 5ECB but don’t quote me.

Well, I just got my car back this afternoon so I headed straight to Rite Aid where the Lamisil rang up as $10.49, so I left. I went to Walgreens and got an excedrin menstrual complete for $2.50 minus the $2.00 coupon paid 50 cents and got back a $2.00 register reward. My car repair bill was $1,034… so my Sunday morning shopping on Monday afternoon resulted in a net LOSS of $1,032.50!
