Sunday Morning Shopping

by admin on June 14, 2009

My Sunday morning run was truncated from my earlier plans due to a family commitment later (mall shopping with my mom and niece!) So, here’s what I did:

Headed to Target and got there at 8:10 am. Not bad. They didn’t have many B&J choices, so I “only” used 20 coupons. I broke it into two orders and added a Pepsi to each one. The Target gift cards prompted with no problems. Since I had such a large amount of coupons I decided not to roll the gift card. It’s not like I’m not at Target all the time buying “stuff”. OOP was $31.56 and I have $20 in Target gift cards to spend.

Then we headed to Walgreen’s. As my husband so nicely posted from his blackberry, only the Oatmeal type St Ives generated.

I picked up one of each type of St Ives that was on sale and three Right Guard. I did my first order with the Oatmeal flavor and the RR popped out after a slight delay. The next order had the Mineral Therapy and it did not generate. I told her I’d just call Catalina, but she insisted the manager could fix it. He just scanned the Oatmeal again on two separate order (my husband did two also) and gave me the rewards. This store was REALLY stocked, so he was wondering how he was going to fix the problem.

The we headed to Tops because my husband needed a few things to add to his soup. I saw the pad grabber!! I was wandering the store and took some Stella Artois and some Bud forms (that I will offer up as a RAOK tomorrow) and left more than half what was there for other people. As I was walking towards the bakery, a woman got this glazed look in her eyes and walked as if in a trance towards the Bud forms (I know the look, I get that look myself). Without even reading the form, she walked up to it and ripped the rest off to the cardboard! I looked at her other hand, and there were the remains of the Stella forms! I have a sneaking suspicion I know who she is and will look at refundsweepers later today to confirm.

So now what? Do I not leave half for the next person? There is no way I could pad grab though. It goes against my nature to take them all. I almost went back with what I took figuring she was done with that store for the week and other customers might want some. But, the Stella expire really soon and I want to make sure they get used. Although if she returned to the store she’d make sure they got used too…. but at a dollar each. And, how long had those pads been there? I had not been in that location for two weeks so I don’t know. A lot of the Bud had already taken. Am I justifying? Should I let the pad grabber have them all? Is what I am doing in taking 10 of each any less wrong? Hmmmm

Then it was off to Walgreen’s #2 where we got four of the Oatmeal St Ives. I used some of the RR to “buy” eight more papers. Then Walgreen’s #3 for more Oatmeal St Ives. That store only had the oatmeal flavor and they had them behind the beauty counter. I doubt she had more than 20 left so they will be out soon.

No Rite Aid this morning as I did not have time. I am curious as to whether or not the B1G1 Reach toothbrush coupon gave anyone problems.

I absolutely agree… you do have the BEST Rite Aid scenarios. But I have to ask… how is it that you have 20 coupons for Ben and Jerry’s??!! Do you buy them on eBay when you see a big sale coming or just buy truck loads of Sunday papers. I’m a newbie to coupons. Just when I’m getting the hang of things I learn a new “trick”! :)

I actually had 40 coupons. The pad was enormous. I left tons. I found them at 7-11. I had found Häagen-Dazs coupon a few months ago at 7-11, so when I stopped in a few weeks ago I looked by the ice cream again. There they were!

I do not buy coupons on eBay. I think they are way too expensive. I purchase from Glenda over at taylortown and have for the last 10+ years. Glenda is fabulous! She is listed on my blogroll.

The other person I purchase coupons from is Barb09 over at Refundsweepers Barb does not post every Sunday (sometimes it is Monday and sometimes she skips a week), but her prices are fabulous! You can also find Barb over in the Jewel forum (or heck anyplace on the forum since she is a moderator there) over at Couponers Wanted

I also buy truckloads of newspapers. :-P Actually I will buy about 10 papers a week here. My husband travels and he’ll buy for me on a Saturday or Sunday if he is OOT.

The floss was $1.99 instead of $2.99, so had to ad something else.
