I woke up very late this morning. So late that I made the decision not to go out and shop this morning. Then I remembered I wanted newspapers. So now I have to get washed and dressed and go out for at least newspapers.
And yup, it is almost 10 am for those checking east coast time.
I also had an email from Ms Benjamins with a warning that there could be problems at CVS today!
I wanted to give you a heads up before you drive to CVS, check online your Extra Bucks acct! Several people on SD have reported that the ECBs have been deleted from their account. I checked my account online and everything has been deleted except for 2 measly ECBs. I had $27 in ECBs disappear. It appears that most of the ECBs, although not all, were deleted after 11/26/09 – BF weekend. When scanned, the ECB beep and tells the cashier that the ECB is not found.
Hopefully, this will be fixed soon? Do you know if this has happened before?
Yowzer!
Never had that happen before. Never even heard of that happening before. I have already rolled most of hubby’s BF ECB, so I wonder if this is tied to a system glitch this weekend? Anyone else?
Sooooo looks like CVS is off my list for today.
Rhonda wrote her experience: CVS knows. I just got back and as long as you have the slips they are manually keying them in. They did that for me. I am in St. Louis area.
That leaves Walgreens if I find my RR to roll. You know I’ll find them the day after they expire. grrrrrrr I decided against Rite Aid because I don’t need anything there. I would like to hit a Tops.
Eh I just don’t see me moving for anything except newspapers today. I may just go to the nearest store and not use any RR to get them free. *gasp* I know! Paying for papers!? How absurd! Maybe I’m not feeling well?
So, how did you do today? Did you sleep in or gather lots of free stuff? Did your ECB work? Did everything work as planned or did you have to make changes in the store?

7 pm update:
Ok, here’s my update:
We finally left the house at 1:30 in the afternoon.
Stopped at Walgreens #1 where they only had two triaminic strips left, so I got them. Loooove seeing $0.00 (no tax in NYS) and then a $5 RR pops out!
Walgreen’s #2 had loads, so I had hubby do one order and I did one order.
I managed to find a $3 RR that was expiring today, so I paid $5 for 4 newspapers instead of the $8 retail value.
I stopped at Tops where a lot of stuff went wrong.
1.) The in-ad coupon for the Sara Lee scans off as “$3 Breyers”. So, it attaches to the ice cream. I already used (2) 75¢ ice cream coupons, so the cashier over-rode the $3 Sara Lee coupon. This was a franchise store so their CS is excellent. I may not try to do that deal again, on the other hand all they can say is “no” and I have them take the Sara Lee off the order.
2.) The $5/$20 holiday merchandise is coded for GM items. I bought Solo holiday plates and napkins and they did not count towards the coupon according to the machine. The manger over-rode this coupon too since it is so ambiguous.
We also stopped at Big Lots where we dropped $50 and I forgot my reward card. *sigh* And we went to a local store for their meat sale where be got pork sirloin chops for 99¢#, 73% ground beef for 99¢#, 90% ground beef for $1.99#, frozen Haddock for $2.99# (saving me a trip to the restaurant food store!) and a few other meat deals.
So, what started out as a lazy day turned very productive!

I used $6 in ECBs yesterday that were from Thanksgiving, with no problem.
Oops, just checked my balance online and it shows “zero”–when I’m holding over $20 in ECBs still! Hope they get this resolved soon.
As a matter of fact, I just so happened to look at my CVS acct online last night and noticed that I didn’t have any ECB’s according to the site. I know that I have about $11 in ECB’s from Black Friday. I was planning on going to CVS this afternoon after work. I feel sure that the folks at my CVS will just push mine through, bc they are so good like that. Good Luck to everyone else. Oh, and my CVS FINALLY got one of those scanner machines that prints coupons when you scan your ECB card, but it was broken the last time I was there (BF) and so I haven’t got to use it yet. I hope they have it fixed today!! So is is normal for this machines to stay broke down, or do they break down often??
Hi Amy,
Seems like most of the CVS finally got the coupon printers in the area. Prior to last week I only knew of one store that had the machine and that machine was always up.
One of the reasons I am disappointed in the glitch today is because hubby had a 2/$10 CVS brand products coupon to use on the Merry Brite. Instant money maker! Since it is nearly 25 minutes to the nearest CVS, I am taking a pass until this glitch is fixed in the CVS system. My guess is the Merry Brite are already gone. Oh well, maybe next week since it is free after ECB bows, gift tags and tissue paper.

Ann,
CVS knows. I just got back and as long as you have the slips they are manually keying them in. They did that for me. I am in St. Louis area.
Rhonda
Mine beeped not found this morning, but they pushed them through anyway — so you might just give it a try!
I went work for a couple hours and then stopped by CVS afterwards. All of my EBs except for 1 beeped to High Heaven. The mgr was called he checked my EBs against the card and then he manually pushed each one through! YAY!!! I went to my Jedi CVS store, otherwise, I would have been shot down.
No, Merry Brite santa hats nor ornaments…they were sold out!
I am just Thankful that I was able to get rid of all those beeping EBs!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine did not work this morning either! I only had the $10ECB from the Gillette deal last week. My cashier just pushed it through.

Mine beeped as well, but they manually entered them. My local store JUST got in the coupon machines too! (finally) I got the $2.00/10.00 coupon as well, but they were out of the hats and ornaments so I used it on the Essence Items whoohoo, love it! And I found 3 ECB in my purse I didn’t know I had! Just got my sister started today-so excited to find someone to do CVS deals with!
I was on vacation from all the drug stores today. Hubby wanted to cook dinner. We went to Harris Teeter and did not use a single coupon! That was wired..
I have three accounts that I work each time…mine, one for my Mother, and one for my daughter-in-law. Well, to be sure, I had lots of EBs for all three of us. The guy was nice and manually put them all in. He, at first, questioned whether I had the right card scanned for the proper EBs….which, being a good shopper, I did. This report comes from Fargo, North Dakota!
I’m in central Florida. My CVS told me the computer system had been updated and none of the EBCs or coupons were working. Needless to say, they were very frustrated, but were able to push them through, it just took longer.
Hi Ann! I went to Rite Aid today to finish my L’Oreal deal. I only needed 69c worth, but I have a weakness for their HiP line, and I had a few dollars gift from my mom for early Christmas, so…I went over the $30 free line to get a few things I like. Gasp! Meanwhile, were it not for you, I’d never have even known how to work out Rite Aid deals.
I give you credit, and now I have tons of hair dye and some really nice makeup for less than $10, I’m thinking, after the rebate…
I also stopped at Food 4 Less, where they had Haas avocado 4/$1 and mangos 3/99c, and some other great deals. I spent $11 and got 2 huge bags full of produce. This is one of the great things about CA.
Good for you for giving yourself a rest and starting later today! Sometimes, everyone needs a little break.
