Ok, highlights from this morning’s trip:
I was asked twice, once at Tops and once at Rite Aid, if I work for corporate.
I think it is time for me to shut my mouth and stop being so “helpful”.
I love Rite Aid! I found out a whole lot more about the wellness+ program including my phone # did not work at the register, and Rochester is included in the Buffalo test market.
Yes, as suspected after we all saw the wording change on the amazing printables, the four cities, Buffalo, San Diego, Greensboro NC and Harrisburg PA are test markets for the new pilot program from RA. The good news is, even if you are not in the test markets if you sign up online you can accumulate points and they will send you a card. The bad news is you may not be able to use the great coupons they will be sending out weekly. The program goes national in January.
I am going to write another post on all I found out today, and I’ll enter the link here.
I left this morning dragging my butt due to my lack of sleep and a headache. I must not have been the only one having a bad morning because traffic was non-existent.
Headed over to Tops where I got:
(8) Weight Watchers Yogurt
(1) Jennie-O Tenderloin
(4) Tony’s pizzas
and paid 93¢ after coupons and a $1 Catalina.
This was the store where the clerk asked me if I work for corporate. He also asked me what he did “wrong” because, “Wait, this can’t be only 93¢! What did I do wrong?”
I told him “nothing” and he was ok with that.
The Jennie-O coupons are in the Tops fliers in the store!! *happy dance*
So after that I figured “I am an idiot”. I should get cheap stuff not the tenderloins. After all, how many people have the $5 biggest loser coupons, and how many other people are looking for a pack of turkey close to $2 to use the $2 coupon on?
At store#2 I got:
(8) WW Yogurt
(1) Jennie-O so easy turkey dinner entrees
for $1.83 after coupons
I did not have any newspaper coupons, but there is a 55¢ on-pack peel off coupon that doubles making the so-easy
$3.99
- 55¢ coupon doubled
- $2 jennie-o coupon
= 89¢
I did the exact same order at store #3.
I do not know if this coupon is kept track of on each bonus card like the doublers are. I have over 10 Tops bonus cards, so it is going to be the end of the week before I know. If anyone knows the answer to this question, please post or email me!
Thanks Christina: I have used 4 of the Jennie-0 coupons with the same bonus cards with absolutely no problems
I become more and more convinced each week that Walgreens is not worth the aggravation of the RR. If they let you use one RR and one manufacturer coupon per product, I’d change my mind in a split second, but as it stands now with the program, I donno. I mean sure since I buy papers (nearly) every week I am just using my paper money to buy stuff at walgreens and then immediately rolling to the newspapers, so it isn’t like I am spending actual cash on product; I’d buy the papers regardless, I just would make it an easy transaction. And the week I don’t buy papers? I’m stuck. I went in this morning with (2) $2 RR that expire today and literally walked the store looking for something to purchase. I ended up with some clearance saddle soap and mink oil and now I’m out of RR.
And I’m not sorry I am out either.
All I know is that CVS near my house cannot open soon enough!
Here’s my tiny order at RA. I headed north to shop because I did not feel like fighting the crowds at my stores and there are two Rite Aids one city block apart (not kidding) about 10 minutes north of me where no one ever shops. The stores were full of product at 9:30am and only one other person was looking for the deals.
At Store #1 the clerk was all set to ask me about the wellness card when I said to her “Can you enter my telephone number for the wellness+ program?”
Wow did she deflate!
Poor girl. She is so cute and perky and a pleasure to have check me out. We got to talking and the store manager knew a lot about the program, and this is the store where I was asked if I worked for corporate (probably because I knew about the wellness+ program). Bottom line I filled out an application and got my card there. Those amazing printables scanned with no trouble. Store #2 was the same order for someone else, and I picked up more info too. The phone number did not work in that store either (different number, different online account).
(1) Sambucol $7.99
(1) Blink Tears $7.99
(1) Cepacol fizzlers $4.99
(1) EOS $1.99
(1) Lubriderm $2.99
= $25.95
- $5/$25 RA coupon
= $20.95
- $4 in amazing RA coupons
= $16.95
- $5 manufacturer coupons
= $11.95
- $22.96 SCR
= $11.01 Profit! Not spectacular, but I am happy.
And then I came home and started typing… I probably should get the dairy out of the car, huh?
So, how did you do this morning? Everything go as planned?

I made $7.17 profit from Rite Aid today between coupons & rebates. I am so excited.
YAY! Dawn!!
Ann
Today I did 5 orders (in a row, at my one store) and walked out with $110 worth of product and $25.70 profit!!! It was a great Rite Aid week!
Thanks for doing the deal write-ups!
Wow, five in a row at the same store on a Sunday? Your store is GREAT, Jennifer, and wonderful job!
Ann
Well, at least I’m not the only one who’s irritated with Walgreen’s and the RR “runaround”. I had $3.00 left in RR’s that expired today. After shopping at Shop Rite ( Beef Round Combo packs @ .99lb)!!, hubby needed hairspray. So, i thought let me use up the 2 RR’s. Got the hairspray and a soda. I had to use one RR on the spray, pay the difference. Then start another transaction for the soda to use the other. Quite a different story when I go to Rite Aid.
Hope your headache feels better soon.
Shirley
Hi Shirley,
Makes me wonder how much RA employees are paid that they are all so nice!?
Headache is MUCH better, thanks.
Ann
I did all 4 transactions and got some pop corn balls on top of that (3 for 99c), they are soo good (not good for me though).
Thanks for the great scenarios!
Hi Tatiana!
I was thinking of you just this morning as I have not heard from you in a while. I hope all is well.
Ann
Sometimes it is frustrating when I don’t have all the coupons in my stash, but this week at RA was really fun as there were so many combinations to make. I was too chicken to do all my transactions at the same store . Had trouble finding the Lubriderm. I used the RA over the counter ($2) twice. Used it on the cold calm. Spent $17. Made $27 profit. This was my best week yet. Thanks for all the coupons!
I went to Rite aid and they had everything I wanted as planned for three transaction. Since I am in there at least 4 or 5 times a week they all know me and the cashier let me do all 3 one right after an other. Of course I make sure there is no line and I am okay waiting if the y need to leave me and do an override for another cashier. It helps to be flexible with them.
Made 30.00 profit!!!! yahoo. I thought I got this off of your site but now I can’t find it….. I’ll give you credit anyway, your so helpfull to us all. Thanks

I am so glad your deals went well!
Ann
Update: I forgot some of the kids cold meds I will be donating to the non-food bank in town so I will get a tax write off also. Savings just keep coming!!!
Gotta work it as you can…..
Hi Wendy,
I can always do two orders at the store nearest me, but I went up north today so I would not have to fight the mad hordes that come out at my closest stores during freebie weeks.
Anything to save what little is left of my sanity.
Ann
I posted this in another section but I did all the free stuff and the Glaxo deal–they ended up not having the cheap stuff that rebate but I still made money. I ended up spending $77 and will get a SCR of $167 plus $10 gift card (I have 2 Rite Aid accounts–my brother and mine). I forgot to bring my diaper coupons and Loreal coupons so I will go back today.
I have about 3 Rite Aids right by my house. I ended up going to one I usually don’t go to and it was sooooo quiet. I did 9 transactions. All the free stuff was right by the register which made it so easy. It was so nice since I was the only one in the store. I am hoping tomorrow will be like that since I will have 3 kids with me doing the diaper and Loreal deal.
Also, I used 4 of the cough and cold coupons in one transaction–seem like they didn’t care about the limit.
Andrea
Yes I am fine, thank you!
I am checking your blog daily, of course. Not much to report. Same old occasional Mr. D.. issues, but other than that I am doing ok
Hope you are asleep by now!
I am sooooo jealous!! I wish we had a Right Aid ANY where in KCMO area!! Boo Hoo for me!! At lease I got to make $3.50 on a Glade diffuser today since my CVS was miraculously NOT out of the money maker! Maybe all the couponers around used their coupons at WAGS already. I am with you in that WAGS just doesn’t seem worth it anymore. Especially since they will no longer adjust a coupon or RR down a penny like they USED to!! C’mon people! CVS across the street will, so I go there!!
I don’t understand Walgreens at store-level, Rachel. They go through all the time, energy and trouble in the marketing department to put together these great deals and ads and then *boom* store level acts like people are stealing when they actually want to do the deals marketing puts out!
