Hubby and I left later than usual this morning. Our first stop was Kohls because I had $20 in Kohl’s cash to spend. Here is something I did not know about Kohl’s cash: You do not have to use it all at once!
Our Kohl’s order came to $19.97, so we handed over the $20 Kohl’s cash and, since it is a store coupon, we did not owe anything. Tax is taken off store coupons in NYS. We didn’t buy clothes (not taxable under $115 in NY), so our items were fully taxable a 8.75% and since that too was deducted, our total was $0.00! Because we had 3ยข left the store manager tried to hand it back to me. I said to her, “No I think you need to keep that” as I was under the mistaken belief that a $10, $20, $30 etc Kohl’s cash certificate had to be used all at one time. I was corrected when she said, “But you still have money left on this!”
WOW! Learn something new every day!
After that it was off to Office Depot. Office Max had a $15/$50 coupon in their ad today. Office Depot takes competitor coupons. Sonny-boy needed some binders, so we decided to get them, and some $2.99 2-day special water and use the coupon.
This was quite the project. First, the advertised water was not in the store. The guys working were very helpful once I explained that there are regional differences in the water that each are received. They had 156 available cases in back, but they thought they were sent the wrong stuff. After I asked them to check the numbers on what they had, they discovered our area was sent Deer Park instead of the Zephyrhillis water in the ad. If you head over to Office Depot today or tomorrow, check the cases of water if they aren’t marked.
We ended up with 10 cases of water, 3 binders, 2 pair of scissors, 3 free rulers (completely free, limit 3) and OOP was $38 and change. Plus I have a nbpr form I can send for using this CRT.
If you wanted just water, it would work like this:
(17) cases x $2.99
= $50.83
- $15/$50 OM coupon
= $35.83 or $2.10 per case if spring water
After that it was off to Walgreens where we spent $60! OOP!! On what!? Actually I can get to $40 on just the Wal-zyr and the Brita that we bought. Hubby got (2) $1 plain symphony bars at $1 each on clearance that spit out the $1 RR at the end. Vitamins and a few other misc items and we spent a small fortune even after RR.
I did get 4 more glade candles and $1 RR for every two, so whoopie.
Then it was on to Tops where I wrote down a bunch of new extended sale prices and Catalina offers that I will be adding to the main Tops page later.
No Rite Aid for me this week. Making $25 would be nice but I don’t have the time to run to four different stores to find 10 accu-chek monitors. I’ll figure out a way next week to get the Everpure conditioner that I actually like and will use for free after rebate instead.
I wasn’t going to go to CVS this week but I found another $10 ECB that expires soon, so I may as well combine with the $4/$20 at the very least and get some free stuff. I’ll probably go Friday when I head into the city.
So, how did you do today?

I did no runs today, I feel so unproductive. I’m happy to read that you have high OOP days too! Wags can do that to you some days!
Wags can do that to you some days!
Hubby can do that to me most days.

I forced myself go to CVS only because I NEEDED to roll those ECB that were expiring on Sep. 15 “eye roll”. Clean & Clear kit was $19.99 which resulted in me having to rework my plan as I was counting on it to be $14.99. I got it anyway because once again I just needed to roll right then and there and it JUST could not wait anymore.
I got a few other items and used all kinds of mfg and CVS coupons and achieved my goal of rolling my ECB. I won!! “eye roll again”
