Sunday Morning “Must Do” Deals

by admin on August 8, 2009

What to do first, what to do first?

On the one hand, CVS has some really good money making deals next week, on the other hand, so does Rite Aid. I really want the free candy at CVS and I have a LOT of coupons to use. Rite Aid is more of a “free stuff” run than a “get stuff I need” run. On the other hand, do I really “need” 90 candy bars? I could put them away for Halloween….

bwahahahahahaha *gasp* hahhaha *chortle* bwhahahaha

*wipes eyes*

bwahahahahahaha

Yeah, I could put them away for Halloween, and since there are 84 days until Halloween I’d even have six left to pass out when October 31st rolls around.

Well, I think if I get up early enough I’ll hit CVS first because it opens at 8 am then head off to Rite Aid.

Walgreens has a really nice, easy, roll potential. I want some lotion for my grandfather so I will be making a stop there.

I will definitely head to Tops tomorrow to work on my “free” gas deal. I have so many 75¢ suave body wash that I can’t pass by a Tops all week without running in and doing at least two orders!

If I knew Target was selling the Air Wick Freshmatic Ultra i-Motion Starter Kit for $5.99 I’d run through the door at 8 am to get what I had coupons for. Since I’m not sure, I’ll stop on my way home, and, if it is included, get a rain check. :-P

Pathmark has some excellent deals if you are in the area, same for A&P. I have not even looked at the Kmart ad yet, so I guess that is a pass tomorrow, and well, my views on WalMart are pretty well known.

So once again it is a drug store morning for me with a little bit of Tops on the side. How about you? Any “must do” deals I missed?

Ann – you probably won’t read this here until after all your shopping but in my Greatland (or regular Targets, not Super), I did not see the Imotion on the shelf again. I saw the regular Freshmatics for $5.99 as well on Friday. As you can see, I love the Imotion ones (cause I can’t use the plugins in our bathroom – they don’t plug in properly b/c of a light switch). I’m really hoping that they get the Imotion ones and include them LOL. I have A LOT of cpns. (Rite Aid or Target – I need some good sales!) LOL

Oh – how is the taxes for you since the CVS change? I use a ton of ECBs and my tax was $2.15 and my subtotal was $0.17. The darn nearly 9$% sales tax. Not as bad as some other states though I admit.

Liz remember how the tax used to be subtracted from the amount of the ECB? So if you had a $5 ECB they took an additional 40¢ (or so) off the taxable part of your order? Well, it is no longer considered a store coupon by CVS – not sure how they could be reclassified that way… it is clearly a CVS perk – and tax is no longer subtracted from the order.

So are you saying it WAS subtracted from your order? Or that your tax was $2.15 on a 17¢ order?

Ann, I can tell you that here in LA, my tax was $1.56 on a subtotal -30c (negative 30 cents). The full retail value was $48.59, but stuff was on sale which definitely made it less. Don’t have the receipt in front of me to give you an exact total. Some stuff was food and some wasn’t.

Confirmed everywhere then, ECB no longer deduct tax from what you owe.
