Stirring the (Coffee) Pot

My husband is a great guy! I mean great. He does a lot for me, including most of the tweaks that have happened to date on this blog. He can also be a bit set in his ways and a bit authoritative. I do my very best to make sure he doesn’t get too full of himself. Since he does think his requests should always be honored, I do my level best to not spoil him by complying.

Hubby works at home 2-3 weeks per month. I occasionally make, and bring him, coffee. I am good to him too. About a month ago, he decided he didn’t want a spoon in his coffee to stir it, he wanted a swizzle because it was smaller and didn’t take up as much room at his desk. (I guess the three other coffee cups, water bottles and cookie containers are part of the decor?)

Odd request, but no harm done.

But wait, there’s the part where he leaves the small swizzle I cannot see in the mug along with a small amount of coffee that needs to be poured down the drain before being loaded into the dishwasher. Do you have any idea how many I’ve had to fish out after the disposal started to eat them?

So, I went back to the spoon.

He went back to complaining about the spoon.

The next time I brought him coffee, he got a tablespoon.

He laughed and started complaining he wanted the swizzle back.

So yesterday, he got a serving spoon.

He laughed and actually walked that spoon immediately to the sink!
