Earlier this week hubby and I traveled to the Poconos so I might attend the very first Reviewer’s Retreat Conference. Now, since my “formal” reviews have only been about wine and liquor, you are all scratching your heads and thinking “huh!?”
And no, this was planned many moons ago – the Pathmark tripling thing was just a happy accident!
I went to the conference because the Poconos are close (under 5 hours), I love connecting with other bloggers and PR folks (who help me get accurate information for all of you), and I thought I might learn something.
We stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge. The staff at this place was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! I am not kidding. They were truly stupendous. There are more kids there per square inch than at Disney though, so be prepared if you go there because hubby certainly was not.
I was able to spend time with a lot of great bloggers including: Dian at Grocery Shop for Free, Alecia from Saving & Stewardship, Alli who writes Couponing For 4, Jenna of Bucktown Bargains, Janel from Good Deal Mama and Courtney who is starting the new blog My Crazy Savings, to name just a few.
As with any conference we received a lot of nice swag that you will be hearing about at a later date (and those of you attending the Erie meet up will be picking out of the bag!) However, I actually won a fantastic door prize that I would be remiss in not highlighting:
This was a prize pack from Musselman’s, and when they picked my name out of the hat (umm box) it did not even register with me that it was my name! I seldom win anything, so I sat there like a bump on a log until my blogging buds told me I had won.
The Musselman’s prize pack contained an ipod schuffle, itunes gift card, exercise mat, a fitness ball, as well as a number of Musselman’s products and a several other goodies! Apple Fruit Leather here I come – er, when hubby makes it again.
All in all I had a grand time! I am hopeful that I can foster relationships with some of the wonderful PR representatives I met at the conference which will allow me to continue to bring you new and accurate information.

Oh, that is AWESOME!! Congrats on winning that prize pack!! Whoohooo! Of all the names above, the only one Im familiar is Alecia @ Savings and Stewardship. I think I follow her on RSS feed, but I hate to say I dont really have time to read most of the folks I follow.. occasionally though.

Congrats on the prize, that is awesome! As for Great Wolf Lodge, we just took the little guy there for a long weekend earlier this month. It was an incredible stay which I would recommend to anyone with kids … and we will certainly do it again, but my note to self after the 1st visit was … NEVER DO THIS ON A SATURDAY AGAIN!
