That tuna was a great deal tonight! I had 18 coupons! LOL (The paper delivery person dropped off 13 inserts for me!) Anyway, buy 6 for $6 use (3) 75 cent coupons doubled, and pay $1.50 and get $1.50 OYNO.
Wish I had realized that BEFORE checking out. I bought in groups of 8 b/c Tops only doubled 4 like coupons per transaction. I had no idea until tonight. Oh well, still got a great deal, love taking the pouches to school to put on my salad.
How do you get the paper delivery person to drop off 13 inserts??? I would love to get free coupon inserts on a regular basis!
Thanks so much for all the hard work!
Didi,
I have a question for you. I see you have the KC BQ sauce with a .75 off coupon, where did you find that? I can only find one for .50/1 (3/13 SS).
Thanks for you help.
Which Starkist tuna pouches count toward to catalina? Last night I bought 5 pouches for $1.99ea but no catalina printed. What gives? If it is not listed in the flyer, how do approach customer service for redress?
Also, in my weekly flyer don’t see SoftScrub or Dial listed at part of the B$15 G$5 off catalaina, am I missing something?
I must be losing it because again I can’t find the Post or the Pictsweet coupons in my inserts. Were they in the Buffalo inserts?
The tuna Catalina was given out on all kinds last week, but I “think” it is supposed to be the albacore. There should be signs in your store underneath the product that shows what type are eligible.
Check your weekly flier again… when I write this up on Saturday I just copy and paste from the Tops website, so the products listed are what Tops lists.
I have the pictsweet coupons. If you can’t find them in the Buffalo papers, my guess is I received them from out of area.
Ann
At my store in Rochester, it’s only the low sodium tuna that indicates it’s part of the catalina deal.
OK,tuna in Olive oil must not be included.
Tops site won’t load, so I’ll check it later.
Pictsweet cpn, oh uh, Feb 13. Ahem.. never mind
Thanks Ann and Carrie!
I have a question about the Arm and Hammer deal…I just ordered coupons from a clipping service and they should be here tomorrow. Will the coupon scan for $3 or automatically adjust down? I just want to make sure I have other products to cover overage. Thank you in advance
Amy, Patty posted in the Sunday Morning Shopping post that the machine took off the full $3/2. Now, that does not mean the cashier could not hand adjust, but I would assume at this point that the full $3/2 will work when you buy 3 Arm & Hammer.
Ann
when we used 5 $3/2 coupons, the assistant manager helped the cashier and $5 was deducted in addition to the 11 free Arm n Hammers. whether or not you receive the extra $5 is up to how the cashier and/or front manager rings it up.
Why was $5 deducted? And do we know when this sale ends (getting the 11th free)? Thanks
-Christina
it ended weeks ago.
I had 50 cent coupons I printed from the internet around 2 weeks ago for tuna fish. They doubled to $1.00 so I recieved the packets for free. Big catch at my local Tops they limit 4 coupons doubled per day per person so I could only get 4 a day what a pain in the butt!!! No exceptions and the store manager was not very nice about it as well. Hope you all have better luck with your local store!!
They limit to 4 alike doubled coupons per order, Amanda, not per day. I’m not sure the hows or whys or your manager not allowing you to split up your order, but if you walked out and walked back in, you could get 4 more alike products, use 4 more alike coupons and they would double.
Remember you can double 100 (or whatever) coupons per order, just no more than 4 alike.
Ann
My Tops manager said per person per order per day. He also said he could track my Bonus card usage sin case someone else used it. So he is making it hard on me but I will do my best to save for my family. Thanks!!
My Tops manager actually said he’s out to get me, to find me make a mistake with coupons as I am “quite the slouth (detective- sorry can’t spell it).” I don’t go into Tops anymore unless I have to for a great deal. When I go to checkout, the manager (who always happens to be around) will stand next to the cashier and watch me check out. At least there hasn’t been a mistake and I can shove that back at him!
Wow Margie, I would call corporate on that guy! What is he doing making a customer uncomfortable shopping at his store?
Ann
I ran into Tops last night to grab milk for Chase … I’m waiting on coupons so I did not do any other shopping. I did however, walk down the condiments aisle, and the BBQ sauce shelves were bare! I’m going to try the other Tops when my coupons come … but I hope they restock!!
My Tops was out of the baby rays on Sunday morning. Today they are out of everything, no BBQ of any kind, no Kraft dressing, no Knorr sides…… when they have sales that they are advertising “buy EIGHT” of something, you would think they would order a few extra……
My tops will order items for you and depending on when they are ordered is when they come in. I ordered 64 degree deodorant on Wednesday and they will be in tomorrow (saturday) just in time for the last day of the sale. Saw the manager today and he checked yesterday and they are definetly on their way. They will end up being .50 each with the .75 off one and the buy one get one free coupon. And I will get the additional 1600 gas points ($1.60 off per gallon up to 30 gallons) plus 10 points per coupon ( 640 points) plus 30 points for the $32 purchase. For a grand total of almost 2300 gas points ($2.30 off per gallon) ( 2.30 x 30 gallons = $69 off the gas. Have to split them up with 8 per order but my tops lets me do that all in 1 visit. I love that store.
The Batavia Tops is terrible. I only go there is I’m working on my lunch break. Everytime I go in there they make up a new rule that I have never heard of. Went in last night and bought 8 degree and had 4 bogo and 4 – .75 of coupos. Girl didn’t know why she had to put them in manually so she came up some made up story. Needless to say the deodorant was left there and I won’t go back. Last time I shopped there, I left an entire grocery cart full of groceries there because they ticked me off. Should have learned my lesson then. I love this site. Got a lot of stuff at tops free this week and on Wednesday got $2.80 off per gallon of gas $84 savings and that was all accumulated in 4 days. You can imagine the items in my house right now. I love couponing.
Agh Kim – I feel the same about Batavia Tops, its where I shop… and my only other option are the tiny surrounding stores….
Thanks Ann! Got 16 bottles of bar-b-q sauce for FREE! love it!

I agree Batavia TOPS is NOT coupon friendly at all. Which TOPS do you use???
tops is said to take items down when they go on sale
I am NEW and CONFUSED to this and just trying to understand it all.
I have watched every episode of Extreme Couponing I could to learn and am now scouting the Internet to understand my stores and policies with using coupons. I have a local Tops Market.
Their policy says, if you use their Bonus Card ALL Manufacturer Coupons are doubled up to a face value of 99 cents. (Internet coupons are a bit limiting too.) The total value off the double coupons may not exceed the value of the price of the item. We reserve the right to limit four (4) double coupons per same item per day per customer.
What I do not understand is how do those EC people get hundreds of items? If you are limited to 4 items per double coupon, and if you use your bonus card, every coupon suddenly becomes an instant double coupon thereby limiting your amount of same item deals to 4?
Can you possibly NOT use the Tops Bonus Card and eliminate the coupon becoming an instant double and limiting the amount of same you can get to four with a coupon?
Example, maybe you have a coupon for $1 off, for an item that is 99 cents and you have 10 coupons, can you then get 10 of the same possibly without using the Bonus Card turning your coupon into a double with restrictions of 4 items?
Tops also says, the double coupon policy does not apply to customers without a Tops Bonus Card. So say my son has a Card but I do not, can I buy as many items as coupons as I can come up with and possibly get a number of products for free given the above scenario?
Is there another way to get around that product limitation?
Also I cannot understand according to their policy if you have a coupon that exceeds the value do they give you credit towards other products or do you get nothing? Do you have to avoid using the Tops Bonus card to get credit for overages, or to avoid the double policies or any other policies for Bonus Card holders?
I am so sorry, the policies of these stores all seem pretty tricky, and they are NOT explicit enough given the type of policies or regarding certain issues. Just trying to understand how to play the game back and win. I have been paying them full price for too long. When I still had a car that ran, I just went further to Aldies and avoided all this.
I also want to know what Tops means regarding Internet coupons when they say they do not accept internet coupons for free products? Does that mean if you have an Internet coupon for $1 for a product of 99 cents, making the product free they will not honor it, or does it mean if the coupon says for a “FREE ITEM”, they will not honor it?
Thank you ahead of time for any help!
I see that show extreme couponing seldom explains these types of things. It appears you are lucky if they explain a couple of deals in detail per show.
Ok the first thing to realize is Extreme Couponing is reality TV. Regardless of what is being said, no one on that show goes into a store without a TV crew and gets $1000 of groceries for free doubling 652 coupons at a time. They may do so breaking up the orders, or over the course of a week, but seldom if ever in one order.
The stock for that show was ordered, and the cashiers were instructed to ignore limits. Some machines froze due to the upper coupon limits and had to be manually reset.
The 4 alike doubles does not apply to all stores. Some store chains do have unlimited doubles, but normally to 50¢. And some store chains do not offer double coupons at all.
Next, if you shop at Tops, get a bonus card. Sale prices, doubling and gas points all work in conjunction with the bonus card. While you may be able to use the store card and receive the sale price and get double coupons, you are forfeiting the gas points (your son could use your card to redeem them).
You only receive double coupon credit in conjunction with a bonus card. You do not (normally) receive coupon overage at Tops. Does happen on occasion, but it is not a reliable thing.
The 4 alike coupons limit only applies to doubles on one order. If you have 10 products and (10) $1 coupons, you may use them all on the same order. If those (10) coupons are for 75¢, you are better off breaking them up into 3 separate orders, using no more than (4) 75¢ alike coupons per order.
Free internet coupons are just that… coupons that say the word free on one item. This does not apply to B1G1, and it does not apply to coupons that result in a free item, just internet coupons that say Free (value to XX).
To avoid the 4 alike coupons per order limit (remember, you can use 100 coupons, but no more than 4 alike will double), separate your orders.
Ann
At Tops to get the double coupons you can only have a max of 4 per item, meaning 4 for pepsi, 4 for pringles, etc. Also, they give you 10 bonus gas points per manufacturers coupon you use but the limit the extra 10 points to a max of 10 per order. So, 10 coupons x 10 extra gas points = 100 gas points which = .10 off per gallon up to 30 gallons = 3.00 savings on gas. So, without confusing you this is what I do.
Order #1= 4 vlasic relish .75 off doubled per relish 1.50 off each and the price this week is 1.50 each so they are free. In same order 4 speed stick deodorant 1.99 each .75 double (expired on sunday) to 1.50 off each so you get 4 of them for .49 each. Have to look for the smaller 1.99 speed stick. Same order 2 Jif peanut butter .35 off coupon doubles to .70 off x 2 (price $2 per jar) 1.40 each. So, you are paying nothing for the relish, 1.96 for the speed stick and 2.80 for peanut butter and getting an additional 100 gas points for 10 coupons saving $3.00.
Also, this week if you can find the coupons for arm and hammer dryer sheets $3.00 off 2, they are $1 each so they will take the additional $1 off the rest of your order.
I got 30 gallons of gas free last week with using my coupons 119.00 savings on gas and got cereal for .50 per box.
Hope this helps.
Just to clarify – I’ve had this question for a long time.
If an item is $1, and I have a 75 cent coupon, doubled to $1.50, the register will apply the extra 50 cents toward the rest of my order?
Not normally at Tops Meredith. They are usually quite on top of only getting it free, no overage.
Ann
I have nothing but a great Tops on Youngs Road in Tonawanda, NY. When I need large quantities of items, I special order through the grocery manager and the customer service managers are very well aware of who I am. I also have a cashier, Deb, who loves to check me out to see all of my savings. They are very appreciate of me doing business there-coupons or not. They way they see it is they show an increase in sales and they still get reimbursed for all coupons. The only drawback is the limit of 4 doubled coupons so I have a lot of separate transactions.
Finally doublers!
Is there any way you can scan or take photos and upload a .pdf of each week’s ad? At least until the actual ad comes out on Sundays? I would love to be able to go through it early and pipe in if there’s any deals that maybe didn’t jump out at you initially!
I did the P & G deal…… after coupons I paid $4.64 ( the rebate form says one per household)
Pantene Shampoo, Conditioner, and styler. Three old spice deo and three old body
Used a $4 catalina from last week along with two free pantene coupons.
So glad to see some couponers that shop at TOPS! Thanks for all the helpful ideas!
Do you think everyone will get doublers? I read only the ones without GasPoints will be getting them this time. That would be upsetting! =o(
Still waiting for my Axe Qs to do the deal this week. I hate waiting for coupons in the mail, it’s like waiting for Christmas
We have gas point deals and doublers on the 1st.
Ann
YAY! I’m excited, I hate clipping our local coupons for $1/2, but I do it, faithfully, hoping for the Doublers to come around before they expire to make them worth it
Ya know, I went to my other TOPS today & did 2 Pepsi transactions, each w/ 5 Diet & 1 Next (1¢Q) and neither one gave me the Coke Cat. I got a Stonyfield Yogurt Cat w/ the 1st Tranny and an advertisement for GM Cereal w/ the 2nd Tranny.
On a good note, I paid $1.86 OOP for (11) 2-Liters of Pepsi!
hi, I have a question…if you buy the big pack of boneless chicken breast get the 9 items free. can i use coupons on the free items? Thank you for the help!! fran
Nope.
Ann
This is my ? how many of the coupon doublers can you use in one day can you cash out and go back into the store and do it again??
There used to be a limit of 6 card swipes per day, but as far as I know that ended long ago and there isn’t a limit any longer.
