Target Mr Linky

I am stickying this for two days to get more input. I’d like to start Mr Linky next week. I’d love input on if it is better on Sunday or Monday!

Since I started blogging I’ve had the good fortune to leave meme links at some very good blogs. This in turn lead people to this blog, which in turn helped people save some cash (I hope). I have desperately wanted to return the favor to other bloggers. No, this site is not the largest blog out, but over the past few months the readership has been growing and I think I might be able to shoot some readership to other bloggers. The more blogs people are aware of, the more money people can save. No one blogger can list it all!

So, I’d like to try a Mr Linky.

I figure I need a store that I actually know something about (that lets WalMart out), and Rite Aid, Walgreen’s and CVS have at least five people each hosting a weekly Mr Linky. So I got to thinking; what else is national? Well, Kmart and Target. Sure Kmart has been doing well over the last month or so but how long can they sustain it? If they continue to do well then a second Mr Linky could be added. But Target seems to always have something going on either in markdowns, TPCs, gift card offers, etc. People actually LIKE Target as opposed to the love-hate relationship everyone seems to have with Kmart. And, as far as I know, only Ginger at Attention Target Shoppers currently hosts a Target Mr Linky. If you know of other bloggers that regularly host a Target Mr Linky, plmk and I may rethink Target and go with Kmart after all.

So, with that in mind I’d like to start a Target Mr Linky. I was thinking of either Sunday evening or Monday morning for it to go up. What do you think? I’m also taking names and email addies if you’d like a reminder when this begins (probably in a week). And, I’ll probably spam the folks I know that have blogs and put up a Target post. :-)

So, what do you think? Is it feasible? If you have a blog will you Link-up?

Any and all suggestions are appreciated it.

  1. I think Target would be GREAT!! I follow SD but that Target thread is crazy!! I would love to start getting good geals at Target but I just can’t wrap my brains around the deals. So I am all for it!

    Plus – I just wanted to let you know that I came to your blog due to referral from Barb over at CW. You are now on my favorites and I check you out 3 to 4 times daily! Your hard work is GREATLY appreciated!

  2. Barb is great! She needs to get her butt back to the states so I can have someone to play with online (no one makes me laugh more than Barb!)

    Yeah one of the reasons I think people get frustrated with a big site like SD or FW is because… well the threads are crazy! You have to weed through 1000 posts to find that one nugget. I can say that with certainty due to my early years on FW. ;-)

  6. I’m from Texas, I’m still learning the ropes with the coupon thing, I started last year and im a coupon Freak. LOL. I have been using this site for the past couple of months and i love it. I will do my best to blog about what I find when I shop. The store i have over here where i live are Targets, Walgreens, CVS, Walmarts, and HEB(thats like a publix or krogers).

  8. I’ve been following Ginger for some time now and since her big announcement I feel there is a need for another Target Mr. Linky. I love target shop there 4 to 5 days a week. I actually found your site through one of your posts on AttentionTargetShoppers. Go for it. I’ve got you in my favs.

  10. I am a Barb follower too…it is too bad she is gone OUT OF THE COUNTRY for so long but nice for her…once every two years I guess we can spare her…

    I appreciate the concise format of your blog too…and I am really excited that I won in your last contest!!!!

    Target is not a big place for me to shop but if I could get better at deals there I am sure I would love a Mr. Linky for there too.

    I will continue doing the weekly ad match-ups. It is a rather huge labor of love. I have left the deal scenarios to other bloggers while I dig up the coupons to match.

    I don’t have plans to ditch my site anytime in the near future if ever. I’ve always enjoyed my readers and hope they will stick with me for the matchups and other goodies.

    There is room for all of us Target loving people. A word of warning, don’t post info before midnight on Saturday night for the upcoming week or you’ll likely find yourself with a cease and desist order from Target. I never received one but that was because I respected their advertising schedule and kept my nose clean. I’m sure you recall me requesting you not to post info in comments for this reason. I could see Target corporate in my stats weekly checking me out so expect them to come looking. I am sure they have alerts set up just like I do.

  12. I swear Wings, a mod over at B$, must go through his local Target almost on a daily basic. He finds the good deals on the clearance items and shares them with others. Too bad Target stores around here seem to be void of cheap stuff.
