Stockpile Recipe: Marshmallow Salad by Mary

by admin on August 29, 2010

I ran a holiday contest on July 4th. The requirement for a second contest entry was a stockpile recipe! We all have couponing stockpiles, and new recipes to utilize those stockpiles are always welcome. You can find a complete list of Stockpile Recipes here, under the same named category tag.

Marshmallow Salad

This is an old favorite of my family!

5 Cup salad
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 cup sour cream
1 cup(small can) mandarin oranges
1 cup chunk pineapple
1 cup coconut

Mix well and let set preferably overnight. Flavors mix and the marshmallows kind of melt. I usually double the recipe.

Confusing recipe. It says 5 Cup Salad. What Kind of salad?? THen it list 1 cup of sour cream twice. Why not just say 2 cups sour cream instead of saying 1 cup twice or is that a typo????

Sorry! Typo.
The last cup should be coconut. the name of the recipe is;
Five Cup salad
There is one cup each of 5 ingredients. my family does not care for coconut so I usually leave that one out. You can also substitute fruit cocktail for either the pineapple or oranges.
