Site Update Complete

Well, as you can see the site has been updated. It now looks very different than it did at inception just a few short months ago.

I would again like to thank the following people as without them none of this would be possible:

Kim at Dramatic Design . Kim has the patience of Job as well as an artistic flair. She went above and beyond on revisions. Not only did she do the header, she also made the blog button “different” and my business cards are “wow”!

Linda at Berries and Cream Blog Design is also a very patient woman. I wonder if that is part of the job description when you sign up to work with bloggers? She is responsible for all the front page tweaks you see. The site looks cleaner, and the meatier pages that people really want are now in an easy to access navbar directly under the header.

Now, I’d like to take some time to explain my header.

Coupons, Deals and More is the name of the blog. (Thank you Captain Obvious!)

The tag-line “the continuing adventure of a Coupon Goddess” requires me to divulge a bit of my background and a story. So pull up a keyboard and a cup of java and be prepared to be bor.. er, enthralled!

Many, many, many years ago, oh, like 2001, I presented a proposal to Tim Storm at fatwallet to add a forum that would be dedicated to couponing and refunding. Tim liked the idea, and the Grocery Coupon Forum at fatwallet was born. A year or so later I moved on to bargainshare where I moderated for the next 6+ years.

When I moved from fatwallet to bargainshare, there was a lot of “Where is AMS!?” (That was the username I used on both forums.) One of the folks to ask this question was a gentlemen from Manhattan that referred to me as “The Coupon Goddess”. He was a charming man who had just started to do serious-couponing although he had always been frugal and used coupons frequently. When he went hard-core, he naturally looked to fw. It was a large board then and in the ensuing years it has become the #1 deal forum on the internet. The gentleman from Manhattan asked someone where I had gone to as he wanted to follow “The Coupon Goddess”.

I received a few private messages from this very courteous gentleman over the first few years asking for advice about couponing, ethics and deals. In a forum dominated by women he became the quite the darling.

Fast forward a few years, and my husband still calls me “The Coupon Goddess”. And, it still makes me smile every time he does. I know however, that there are many “Coupon Goddesses” out there, and while I am his “the” I am just one of many to the population at large. While the title he has bestowed upon me has become his pet name for me, I’ve modified it a bit in deference to all the other “Coupon Goddesses” out there.
