Rite Aid Tutorial

This tutorial was updated May 8, 2010

Eh, I figured what the heck after writing the Walgreen’s Tutorial, I may as well do all the big three drug stores. I started this a week ago, held it in draft and I’m now coming back to it. I HAVE to have forgotten something! This is too easy!

This is for Rite Aid which is by far the least complicated of the big three to get free stuff from with little to no brain damage. Most of the “work” is matching coupons and free after rebate items for a profit. You can carry it a little further using RA coupons, but this is honestly one easy store to visit once a week on Sunday and get free stuff.

Rite Aid Wellness+ Program

In 2009 Rite Aid started a test program called Wellness+. This program went national in April of 2010. I live in one of the four test markets, and currently have nothing but good to say about the Wellness+ program.

These are the highlights:

• You must obtain a Wellness+ Card in-store or online
• When you receive your card (or sign up online) attach an email address so you might receive wellness+ coupons, which are bonus coupons that are XX/XX and may be stacked with manufacturer coupons and sales
• Scan your card or give your telephone number to obtain sale prices, and use wellness+ coupons
• When you have “spent” $500 (the spent amount is after Rite Aid discounts and coupons, but before manufacturer coupons or single check rebates) you will receive 10% all regular priced items every time you scan your card. When an item is on sale you will receive either 10% off retail OR the sale price; whichever is lower. This is valid until the end of the calendar year or until you spend $1000
• When you have “spent” $1000 (the spent amount is after Rite Aid discounts and coupons, but before manufacturer coupons or single check rebates) you will receive 20% all regular priced items every time you scan your card. When an item is on sale you will receive either 20% off retail OR the sale price; whichever is lower. This discount is valid until the end of the calendar year.
• There are currently no limits on sale items when using the card.

Rite Aid Single Check Rebate Program

The SCR (single check rebate) is the best rebate program out. Period. No one else is close. Why? It is simple and they pay.

RA online rebate redemption

Rite Aid lists the monthly offers in a booklet in-store and online. The booklet is the final and complete word on eligible products. You may send for your rebate check once during the month either via snail mail or by requesting a check online.

Online redemption is a simple process. Enter your CRTs as you purchase the products. If you wait 48 hours after your purchase before submitting, the store tapes will have been run and you will instantly see if the rebate was awarded for the item(s) you purchased. If you have a problem with something not crediting, a quick email to CS resolves 90% of the problems in a very timely manner.

Rite Aid credits for the purchase price of the free item regardless of coupons used. If you use a $5/$25 RA printable, a manufacturer coupon, a RA in-ad coupon or a RA printable coupon, none of that is deducted from your SCR amount. This means profit!

At the end if the rebate program cycle, request your check. Since you can only request a check once per cycle, it is best to wait until the end of that cycle just in case something you were not planning on purchasing becomes a great deal with coupons.

Rite Aid and Online Coupons

Rite Aid’s official policy now is that they accept internet printables valued at $5 or less, including frees. This is limited to one internet printable (excluding Rite Aid printables) per order. Definitely YMMV as some store will accept as many internet printables as you have, some still will not accept even one. If they don’t accept at least one per order call (1-800-748-3243) so they may contact the store and correct them.

Rite Aid has various store coupons online and in brochures in-store. They have coupons that are on pdfs that you can clearly see what coupons are available, and chose to print them. They also have myriteaid.com coupons that you cannot see. When you sign up for myriteaid.com use a fresh email address every time. You only get one chance to print, so print as many coupons as you think you may want. The problem with this is you are printing blind and how the heck do you know how many pages or a certain coupon you would like if you can’t see it? Some people print to pdf so they can pick and choose what they want. I am not going to debate the ethics or this for or against. It is simply a choice you can chose to make… or not.

You answered my question. I got email that was prompting me to request the check, but I realized that we’re in the beginning of August, so I had a gut feeling that I should wait. Thanks, Ann!
