NBPR Forms

by admin on May 15, 2009

You read that title and now you are scratching your head and asking, “What the heck is nbpr forms?” NPBR = No beer purchase required forms. In several states, there are limitations on what refunds can require someone to purchase according to state law. For some reason, even though beer purchase required forms are perfectly legal in New York, we do get nbpr forms. Currently I have 10 different offers I am trying to juggle. It seems like every time shop I have to ring something up separately.

So, what distributors usually offer nbpr forms? Budweiser is the best. At any given time they have 2-8 offers out. Coors offers a lot, at least 3 per cycle. Miller, Michelob, Labatt, Heineken, Stella Artois, Dos Equis, Corona, Pabst, Bass, Becks, Hook and Ladder, Guinness and Amstel have all put out no beer purchase required forms in the past. Hopefully they will continue to do so in the future.

The states that normally have nbpr forms are : AL, AR, CT, HI, KY, MA, ME, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, RI, SD, UT, VA, WV These states may not be included in every offer, but they will have some offers at least occasionally. The rest of the states? They need to buy the beer.

So, where can these forms be found? Grocery stores, convenience stores, gas station, pharmacies, basically any store that sells beer may have forms. Look by the beer displays or by displays near products such as water, patio furniture, grills, something that might currently be part of a nbpr offer. Some stores still have form boards at the entrance to the store, so look there. Other stores have rebate forms under lock and key at the customer service desk or front office. Ask at your store where the forms are kept. Whether or not you can find nbpr forms in your area really depends on the distributor. My area has a lot of forms… if you can beat the pad grabbers (this will be a future rant). Calls to the local distributor or the manufacturer will help future form distribution in your area. This is not a food offer; the beer distributors are excellent about marketing, want you to pick up their forms and hope you remember their gesture of goodwill and purchase their brand in the future.

If you can’t find forms in your area, you can trade for (or buy) them. Don’t use eBay. The prices are exorbitant and it just encourages bad practices. Try a trading forum like Refund Sweepers or PYP have members that offer forms for a whole lot less.

Found at NOCO and Mobil…$10 rebate (form) when you buy 2 (small) Kingsford or Matchlight Charcoal and 2 bags of ice compliments of Budweiser. Expires 6/1/09. Charcoal on sale at Rite Aid this week 2/$10. Does not work with the Kmart deal because those are the large bags.

Do you have to actually have the NBPR form to submit for the rebate, or can you just send in your receipt and UPC codes to the address?

Thanks!
