Until I was 30, if someone had asked me what my favorite breakfast food was I would have said cold pizza. For some reason after 30 it seemed to sit in my stomach and wasn’t the great treat it used to be. On occasion I have cold cereal, hot cereal, yogurt, fruit, bacon, eggs, sausage, omelets.. all the “traditional” items for breakfast.
And sometimes, things call to me…
Like ice cream.
So, why can’t I have ice cream for breakfast? Who wrote the rules that says ice cream must be eaten after noon and only after a full meal? I mean, doesn’t it make more sense to eat ice cream earlier in the day so you have the opportunity to walk off those calories (or, more likely in my case, fidget them off while sitting at the computer)?
And cake. Who said no cake for breakfast? I mean a breakfast pastry or muffin is standard breakfast fare. Why the cake discrimination? Is it the frosting?
Who fills out the forms and makes the decisions that slots different foods to different meal times? And who decides what order they should be served? I mean every dieter knows if you are going to “waste” calories by eating, traditional dessert foods should come first. You need to make those calories count!
I say we end these discriminatory policies against certain food groups (hey, cake and ice cream are food groups! Learn something new on a blog every day, dontcha?)! With that in mind, I will start right now… *reaches for the free Dove bar from Rite Aid*
Never let it be said I did not do my part!
