Every week it is stated: a RR from the same manufacturer will not roll.

So wth does that mean?

Ok, after further review I decided to clean up my last clarification. :-P

A RR from the same product or alike manufacturer will not roll if it is for the exact same amount.
If you use a $2 J&J RR on an offer from J&J that will get you a $3 RR, it should roll.
Problem is it does not always generate a new RR when from the same manufacturer even with differing RR amounts.
And, if it does not roll you get the cashier/manager arguments and the Catalina arguments that you used a RR from the same manufacturer, blah, blah, blah .

So, I am going to leave this as an absolute even though there are exceptions. I’d rather people safe than sorry especially when dealing with money.

Contacting Companies For Coupons For Upcoming Deals

In the interest of being proactive with Tegan’s bright idea to contact companies for coupons, I looked ahead at a few good deals that have no corresponding snail mail or printable coupons at the drug stores in a few weeks. These are items that are not store brands that you may want to contact the manufacturer to snail mail you a few coupons.

There really isn’t anything to request from a manufacturer for any of the three drugstores. Either we’ve requested previously, or there are current coupons. This is good since there are no inserts next Sunday folks can get their Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens deals together early.

Sunday “Must Do” Deals

Hmmm While Rite Aid is again a money making week, I wasn’t certain I wanted to participate as I did not need anything from the list. Then, I took the time to figure out the P&G deal and I must admit I am seriously considering going to Rite Aid in the morning – if for nothing else than to see if the Pantene is more than a limit of one.

If you have Register Rewards to roll, tomorrow is a great deal to do so at Walgreens. Since I am still off the Walgreens RR-merry-go-round, I am passing.

Writing this up, I actually had to look at the best CVS deals list to see if it was worthwhile. I guess that should have been my first clue that is was not worth going to CVS tomorrow.

I am definitely heading to Tops first thing tomorrow. I want to see if I can do more than four doublers per card (separate orders of course). And since Buffalo-area Wegmans were still (mostly) accepting Tops doublers, I may go there too.

Target actually has a few decent deals this week. Nothing I want or need though, so I am passing.

And as always, there are some decent deals at A&P and Pathmark.

So my tomorrow is short and sweet: Tops, possibly Wegmans and Rite Aid. This is good since hubby is OOT getting me papers. ;-)

How about you? What are your Sunday “Must Do” Deals!?

Walgreens Corporate Coupon Policy

It has been widely reported by Walgreens that a corporate coupon policy would be in place on 8/26/10. And, it is finally available:

Walgreens corporate coupon policy

As a customer-focused retailer, Walgreens encourages the use of coupons by our customers in our retail stores, in accordance with the following guidelines.
Guidelines:

General

• All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier at the time of checkout.
• Walgreens does not accept expired coupons.
• Coupons and their face value cannot be exchanged for cash or gift cards.
• Competitor coupons are not accepted at Walgreens.
• Walgreens cannot accept coupons for items not carried in our stores.
• The number of manufacturer coupons, including Register Rewards manufacturer coupons, may not exceed the number of items in the transaction. The total value of the coupons may not exceed the value of the transaction. Sales tax must be paid, if required by state law.
• Any coupon offer not covered in these guidelines will be accepted at the discretion of Walgreens management.

Sale Items

• Walgreens will accept manufacturer coupons for an item that is on sale.
• In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.

Multiple Coupons

• When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.
The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).
• When purchasing multiple items, Walgreens accepts multiple identical coupons for multiple qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers, unless a limit is specified. Management reserves the right to limit the quantity of items purchased.

Buy One, Get One Free Coupons

When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased.
• Sales tax must be paid for any Buy One, Get One Free coupon offers, if required by applicable state laws.

Internet/Print at Home Coupons

Walgreens accepts valid internet/print at home coupons.

Register Rewards coupons

• Register Rewards can only be earned for eligible items. No substitutions.
• There is a limit of one Register Rewards (RR) printed per offer per customer per transaction.
• Customers redeeming a Register Rewards against the same offer may not receive another RR.

Sunday Morning Shopping

Rite Aid Money Makers starting 8/29/10
Best Walgreens Deals starting 8/29/10
Best CVS Deals beginning 8/29/10
******

This is a long post as we went to a lot of stores this morning.

Hubby and I left the house a bit after 8:30am and went to CVS. This is a fairly new store, so they are not getting the delivery items other stores are receiving. I went in this morning looking for a Bonus Days product. I wanted the Popcorn, Indiana.

Well, the store had almost no Bonus Days products and the manager was extremely apologetic and really, really SMART! He told me to take anything off the shelf, he’d adjust the price down and give me the ECB!!

I wasn’t hearing him correctly (I was completely baffled) and hubby actually had to verbally nudge me into taking him up on the deal.

So this was my CVS this morning:

(4) $2 Popcorn, Indiana
(2) Glade Sense & Spray
= $18
- (2) $1 Poprcorn Indiana coupons (I did not push, but I am sure they’d have taken 4 coupons)
- (2) $3 sense & spray coupons
= $10
- $7.99 ECB from last week
= $2.01 + I received (1) $5 ECB and (2) $1 ECB

and since they did not have the numbers for the Popcorn, Indiana offer means I have not used up any of my limit three on that offer.

Absolutely outstanding customer service from this CVS manager.

After that it was off to Rite Aid. We went to two stores, and I did not get any of the free after SCR items. I received an email from a family member on Friday requesting Depends, so I decided to do the Kimberly Clark offer. Store #2 (orders 2 and 3) was completely hubby’s orders.

Order #1

Kotex Maxi Pads 2/$7
Kotex Liners 2/$7
Depend $12.99
= $26.99
- $5/$25 RA coupon
= $21.99
- $2 adperk coupon
= $19.99
- $5 manufacturer coupons
= $14.99
- $5 SCR
= $9.99
- $4 SCR
= $5.99 + Receive (1) $3 +Up reward and (1) $3 +Up reward

Order #2

(2) Protein Powder $16.99, $8.49
(2) Newspapers $3.20
= $28.68
- $5/$25 RA coupon
= $23.68

Order #3

(5) Chocolate bars $5
(3) Balls $1.49 each
(4) Pop 4/$14
= $23.47
- $5/$20 RA coupon (last one *sniff*)
= $18.47
- $6 +Up reward from order #1
= $12.47 + Received (1) $3 +Up reward and (1) $1 +Up reward

Did this backward, should have switched up order #3 with #2 and used the order #3 +Up rewards immediately for $4 less OOP

And then I figured, WTH and went to Walgreens

Now since this is the “rich people’s Walgreens ” it did not surprise me to see the Air Wick was $4.24 not $3.99. Also Karen, the wonderful cosmetic lady was working so when we had a problem with our order, she knew immediately what to do:

(3) Diet Pepsi $12
(4) Arizona 2/$1
(4) Air wick $4.24
= $30.96
- (4) $4 coupons
= $14.96

A $5 RR did NOT print for the Pepsi, so the MOD gave us a $5 gift card instead of making me send for the RR! Very nice!

I immediately used it on (3) Newspapers and paid $1 instead of $6.

Our final stop was Tops.

(4) Kellogg’s Cinnabon $1.99
(4) Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Cinnamon $2.99
(2) Keebler Cookies $2.50
(4) Heluva Good Cheese $2
(4) Coke 4/$11
(1) Doritos $1.88
(2) B&J Singles $1
(5) Ajax Dish Soap $1
= $52.80
- (4) cinnabon 75¢ coupons doubled
- (4) corn flakes 75¢ coupons doubled
- (4) $2 heluva good cheese coupons
- (1) B&J $1/2 coupon
- (1) Keebler cookie $1/2 coupon
= $30.80 + Received 200 gas points (worth $6) + (1) $10 OYNO Catalina

We spent a lot of money today, but this was not my shopping day … well not really. Hubby was really good at yesterday’s meet-up only asking me twice “can we go now?” I yelled at him the second time he asked, so when he said “pop” and “chocolate” today, that was what we did.

And, a lot of the rest of this will find its way to other family members (and my grandfather is stocked with cereal for a while!).

All-in-all I am quite pleased with today. I enjoy saving other people money as much as I enjoy saving myself cash.

How did you do today? Did everything go as planned? Did you shell out for all the free after SCR offers at Rite Aid? Or did you decide to pass? Details please!
