Walgreens Deals 9/6 – 9/12/09 (Lots is rolling opportunities!)
CVS Deals 9/6 – 9/12/09 (It’s all free after ECB!)
Rite Aid 9/6 – 9/12/09 ($25 profit!)
For some reason I had ants in my pants this morning and got out of the house well before 8:30. Since I was so early it pretty much left me with Walgreens as my first stop. All Walgreen open at 8am around here (the 24 store went to 8 am on Sunday a few months ago), and Rite Aid does not open until 9. I’d have to travel about 25 minutes away to get to a Rite Aid that opens earlier, so I just decided to hit Walgreen’s first.
I stopped at my nearest Walgreen’s because of the travel pattern I had planned. When this store opened it was the best store EVAH! The cashiers were all couponers, and non-jealous ones at that, so they’d help a customer get a deal. The store manager ordered extra, and all way peachy keen (well, except that one time the employees grabbed all the Kotex on a rolling deal before the store opened, but I digress). Over time the wonderful store manager was replaced with a grump, the great cashiers transferred as a result, and the store became unpleasant to shop in. I actually have not been in the place in almost 3 months preferring to get my scripts at a store 5 minutes further down the road rather than add to this manager’s end of year bonus in any way, shape, manner or form. Today I broke down and went in since it was either that or sit in my car for 20 minutes.
The cashier was new and the woman ahead of me was having troubles with the RR. Apparently they had not put out the Colgate toothbrushes yet and several people had purchased the incorrect item and this woman was the first to notice. She was rolling one item at a time so the weekend manager had to get her the toothbrush, do a refund, etc. They were pretty cheerful about it at store-level, so I wonder if the nasty manager has moved on?
I grabbed (2) Rembrandt and (1) Carefree and went up to the register.
I used the $5/$25 RR from 2 weeks ago on (1) Rembrandt, and apparently that is coded as a store coupon because I did not have to pay tax! I did not chance the Rembrandt $1 manufacturer coupon because I was worried about a conflict and no RR popping out. Did anyone use it? Did the RR pop out or did it give problems? My second order was (1) Rembrandt, (1) Carefree and (2) Arizona, I used (1) $4 RR, (1) $2 RR and a $1 Carefree coupon and paid $1.60 (darned tax).
Heard from Sean. He said the RR DID pop out when the $1 coupon was used. Looks like my timidity made me miss out on $4.
Off to store #2 where my favorite Walgreen’s cashier had a GIANT pile of monthly RR cards on the desk. I wrote some down but a full list is definitely going to have to wait until tomorrow. I did two more deals using (1) Rembrandt and (1) Carefree on each order, paid with more RR and $1 Carefree coupons and went off to store #3.
At store #3 they do not care what you do. This is the “Rich People’s Walgreen’s” and they are very customer service oriented. I decided that since I only had (4) Starbucks ice cream coupons left, my rolling opportunities next week were limited, and since there are no newspaper inserts next week I decided to use the RR I accumulated today on (8) newspapers and (6) Arizona. Total cost : $0.00 after $19 in RR!
I paid OOP $4.80 for (4) Rembrandt, (8) 8 newspapers, (8) Arizona and (3) Carefree and I still have $7 in RR leftover!
Off to Rite Aid. It is not looking good for the $5/$25 to be extended. That means watching Adperk videos and printing off a bazillion $5/$20s before they change it to the $5/$25 I heard advertised in-store today.
The plus white printable would not scan and the cashier had to over ride. Was it my printer or the coupon? There were $1 peel-off coupons on-pack so I only needed to give one of the printables. This store is great about taking anything and everything I throw at them, so it would not have been a problem using three over-ridden printables. No other surprises at Rite Aid.
I got finished with my drugstore run pretty quickly and probably should have gone to CVS Eh, there is always tomorrow.

Apparently all the main coupon sites have reset (or at least that is what every blog in the US is posting
) Take some time to look around, you never know what useful items you will find to print!
